Also not exactly a hoax but the box for Turok 3 says there are 48 multiplayer levels but there are only about half that amount.

There are also quite a few cheats that I don't think have ever been unlocked because I've never seen them mentioned anywhere.

There's an ongoing hoax(?) right now in Minecraft about a default skinned NPC with no pupils who builds weird things in your Minecraft singleplayer game.

Also, isn't there one guy in Majora's Mask that gets turned into a tree around the beginning of the game, then never spoken of again? Possibly the mask salesman's son, or something along those lines? That was pretty unsettling.

He's where you get the Deku transformation from, and he's actually the Deku butler's son - he tells you after you do his quest that you remind him a lot of his son, and after you finish the game one of the scenes is of the butler weeping in front of the dead tree http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Deku_Butler.

The Zelda thing is reminding me of the feeling I got playing the nightmare levels from the first Max Payne. They were so out of left field and creepy, I was sure I had somehow broken the game and was seeing something I wasn't supposed to be seeing.

I like what MGS2 did with showing how Snake is viewed from the outside, as a sort of 2nd-person MGS game. It's one of the few things he has done really well. Twin Snakes is also a pretty good parody of remakes in general. The jeep chase is hilarious.
