And if that wasn't funny, there were lots of things that weren't even funnier...
Ermac in Mortal Kombat. Before MK3 his existence was a rumor that began from an "ERMAC" listing in the MK1 audit menu. The counter apparently incremented when reptile or scorpion was mistakenly displayed with red instead of green/yellow. There still isn't really a solid source of agreeing information on any of this.
