I have no idea what this is since I didn't actually read/watch it, whatever it is, but I read a summary. It's like a reverse Romeo and Juliet thing where the two children of big gently caress-off crime families(one might be Yakuza or something I can't remember) are being pushed into an arranged marriage or if not that at least a relationship that the leaders of said families hope will let them sort their poo poo out peacefully. The two of course hate each other but pretend to go along with it in public because they know their families have got dudes creeping on them while they're at the movies or whatever and don't want their families finding out the marriage won't work and resuming hostilities.

Don't remember what this is or where I read about it but it's been bugging me for a while now

I'm in no way an anime expert, nor do I know any personally, so I'll ask this here I guess. In the mid- to late-1980s, San Francisco Bay Area, was a UHF tv station that had its own schedule of cartoons every morning. Stuff like Robotech and Captain Harlock, and often would show a cartoon movie as well. The scheduling however meant that the last half hour of these movies fell within the time I had to leave for school, and a few have been stuck in my mind for the past twenty years or so. I'd very much like to finally be able to answer "What happened next?" unfortunately my casual searching hasn't turned up any answers. Maybe y'all can help me.

Unfortunately my memories have faded some, and generally I remember bits and pieces, I apologize for the vagueness. I'm fairly certain however I can positively ID them if I see and hear just enough. I've checked ADTRWiki, nothing there seemed to click, and my Google skills failed to produce, so.

1) Dude drives a semi, only to discover his truck can transform into a giant robot of justice, or something. Dude and his Robot sally forth to do battle with evil giant robots (?) which are controlled by a mysterious race of alien humanoids with big white bird wings on their back. A lady bird-man ends up with Dude, romance ensues, but lady is caught between two worlds and so commits suicide (? I think. Near the end there was a scene at a beach cliff at night, and I think she jumps, with tears glittering like stars etc.) At the climax, Dude takes robot to defeat the enemy. He's forced to drive down a long tunnel in truck form, which is pretty much defenseless, and the tunnel is lined with all manner of sentry guns. Things are looking bad, trucks getting shot up, Dude's bleeding from the face and regretting his life decisions, and I stopped watching here.

2) Three pilots, two guys one gal, are in a aerial acrobatic troupe. They're doing a maneuver, they fly into the sun, fade to white. The trio come to in a lab and discover:

a) They bought the farm.
b) Were resurrected Million Dollar Man style.
c) Earth is being invaded by giant bug critters, and its up to them to stop them.

The bugs are all Godzilla sized, so the shadowy lab people gave the trio the ability to transform themselves into (as I recall) Godzilla sized Guyver-esque super heroes. The following hour or so is pretty much a series of animated Ultraman fights. Towards the end, one of them (the gal?) gets disabled, so the remaining two have to face down the boss bug, but you can't have no team with just two people and so our heroes get the stuffing knocked out of them. I vividly remember a scene where the two are standing back to back, and the sneaky monster appears from the shadows just to their side. Anyways that's all I got there.

3) This one's really vague, I think I saw more recently than the others, but the art style was very '70s/'80s cartoons. It had a space opera setting, involving two ESPer types (guy & gal) who were running from something/someone. There was some planet-hopping and side adventuring as they escaped their pursuers. Unfortunately I don't have much for this. I specifically remember this having a very relaxes, slow-paced feel to the story and action. The closest in style and general concept I've seen since is "Space Firebird", but I remember the art style being more simplistic and "cleaner" than what that video shows.

[edit] Word is that in the eighties it was common to take full- or mini- series and edit them down to a less-than 2 hour movie format, which was easier to sell to the networks or something. It's quite possible the above movies had undergone the same treatment. Just thought I'd mention.

1) Spaceship is overrun by a green monster with tentacles, being more centered on horror than the sexual version of itself. Probably the only male human character at some point gets an erection in the middle of the horrifying tension, scaring away a crewmember. There's a pink haired girl that is alien, and at some point turns into what appears to be a serpent man/troll? I remember this because it appeared on Universal Soldier: The Return.

2) Kids show about sentinent cars, main character being a police car. "LaliLouWai" Town comes to mind, and there was a corgi on it.

1) Two cities, all the buildings are cannons or have cannons on top of them. Everybody works at loading cannons, firing cannons and aiming cannons.

2)The viewpoint character lives at a cramped house, with little to no space, and lots of flags everywhere, with skulls on them or whatever, not too sure.

The entire point was this weird-rear end perpetual cannon war, with neither city winning.

I watched this late at night years ago, for some reason Metropolis made me brainfart it from memory, I think the mega searchlights reminded me of the cannons.

Hey guys there was this anime that I watched back in the 90s as a kid in my old country and I kinda want to revisit it for old times sake even though its probably dumb as hell but I can't remember its name so I thought one of you can probably do better

its about space and space ship and our heroes are bounty hunters/mercenaries or something like that one of them a dude other a girl and a sentient space ship that interfaces with them as a hologram woman and they have wacky adventures and stuff; the metaplot is that there is a bunch of ancient, sentient space ships lying around but they are malevolent unlike the one our heroes drive and bad people try to usurp them but it backfires and they get assimilated by the ships and in the end our protagonist sacrificed himself and his ship to save the universe from destruction and only the girl is left alive or maybe he survived I dunno

Also there's some sort of dumb running gag about the girl's inability to cook and blowing up the kitchen and the hologram woman getting mad because shes mysophobic

Sorry for the vague description but there can't be all that much 90s space anime around anyway

This is reaching a bit but I remember watching what was probably a movie or an OVA on US TV, I always thought it was Sci-Fi's Saturday Anime but I've looked at everything they've run and nothing matches up so it might have been on a different channel.

All I remember about this thing is it was shown a lot as I caught the same exact thing many times, and always loved it. At one point I even knew the title and plot but those things have faded with time. All I remember now is one scene that has for whatever reason stuck with me, and I can't even remember specifics of that scene:

A character is showing what's either a sentient robot (but probably not a cyborg, I don't remember it looking human), alien, or something else that is ignorant of the world around a modern, possibly futuristic (but not in a grimdark cyberpunk way, the sun is shining and the sky is blue and everything looks clean) city and kind of explaining how humanity lives. I think. At any case the only thing I remember for sure is that at one point the character stops and explains traffic lights. This sticks out because the traffic lights are square, and I think instead of a green light, blue is used. Weird thing to remember but that's all I got. Help me recapture my youth ADTRW.

It's a long story

This might not even be an anime, but there was this animated show in the early 90s that was extremely loosely based off of "The Little Mermaid." I'm not sure what's making me think it was Japanese as it wasn't obviously anime.

The Napoleon of Crime

Can anyone help me identify a character from an anime I watched as a kid? He was from one of those 4Kids-type children's adventure anime from some time in the 90s. I remember he had brown hair in the "birdhair" style that gets made fun of a lot in the CAD thread, he had black-and-yellow armor (if I remember right it looked like a black jumpsuit with the yellow parts being the actual armor plates over the jumpsuit), I'm pretty sure he fought with a staff, and the thing I most distinctively remember is that he wore a circlet around his forehead.

The only scene I can specifically remember with him in it was one where he was dangling from a cliff by a chain wrapped around him, when a female character freed him by bashing the chain apart with a rock. Sorry that this is really vague, but I'm going off a few memories from childhood. My roommate and I were talking about shows we watched as kids when I remembered this dude and it's been driving me nuts ever since. I wanted to say it was from Monster Rancher, but looking that show up I can't find anyone who matches what I remember.

The black/yellow armor or clothing combined with the circlet and staff really makes me think you're thinking of some cartoon version of Son Wukong, from Journey to the West.

This is going to be a long-shot from how little I remember, but I thought this thread would be my best bet.

I remember watching this in the late 90s. It was right as we got cable because I remember it being really gory for animation. The things I remember are guns. While that's a good chunk of every anime, I'll try to elaborate: it was some kind of special gun that was unique to the guy who had it. I'm thinking it fired green bullets, or perhaps it had some green lining on it, or the clip was green? I may be totally wrong about that. There was another character who had another type of gun (possibly blue, but I may also be completely wrong about the colors). I'm pretty sure this was a movie, or an OVA of some sort. I'm thinking it was released in the 80s or early 90s.

Oh, I also remember a scene where somebody had a bomb inside of them that exploded.

I apologize for this being so vague, but I thought of this randomly the other day and really wanted to figure out what it was.
