Zorblack posted:Don't go to Golden Trigger, gently caress that guy forever. I went in looking for a price on a 9mm full size USP, I told him I wanted a price on a full size USP in 9mm, he spent 15 minutes telling me why his prices are so drat high (protip: it's because he's an rear end in a top hat with a correspondence course gunsmith license), then he gave me prices on a P30L and a P2000. Then he closed his book, and I reminded him that I wanted a price on the thing I came into his shop to ask about, he opened his book and shat out a goddamn insulting price (like $850) and told me that transfers are a minimum of $60 and the internet is killing the economy. I was in there for 35-40 minutes and left fuming mad. I had a friend who's sister was a pharmacist and was looking at a new Glock 19, it didn't end well. She was talking to my buddy, and then I asked to be put on the phone with that clown. He then went into the some rage about how people shouldn't use cell phones, possible straw purchase. Then I just told him his price was about 110 dollars over MSRP and asked to be put back on the phone with my buddy's sis. I heard like 15 tones as he was just randomly punching poo poo, I guess to hang up on me. I distinctly heard her saying "can I speak to.. and give me back my phone". I was milking and had a pulsator going off the entire time, so I called her later that day and she said he was an rear end in a top hat. This confirms this.

Harry in Rio posted:I just shot at French Creek Outfitters. The ammo prices there were a bit obscene (25+ tax for a box Rem 45 ACP) but otherwise a decent range. I shot my smokey rear end 38 wadcutters for my tricked out Model 10, and had some fun with my Colt Commander LW. That range is nice place to shoot at in the middle of winter. Like you said, don't buy ammo there. Another plus is you can hit the Wegman's off 422 on the way home. Edit: Another good shop I've dealt with is Backwoods Outfitters in Columbia off Rte 30. I picked up my RC K98 there at a great price. It's a little shack of a shop, but everyone there is friendly and they are great to deal with. A little pricey on transfers though. Faerunner posted:Unfortunately here in PA they're free to have that provision in a lease. They are allowed to put it into the lease, but feel free to cross that portion out and have you and they initial it. a lease is just a collection of dos and don'ts that aren't enforceable until its signed. Everything can be changed. if they won't change it, you also have the right not to live there. That being said, the landlord has absolutely no right to look inside your gun cabinet in the living room, or inspect your gun case as you walk to and from the car. But once there is proof of you breaking a clause of the lease, expect to get evicted.

I'm actually a few miles inland from the jersey border, but for an IDPA match and a chance to actually practice the skills I've been drilling would definitely bring me out. What time do the festivities start?

Anyone in western PA want to take me and a friend or two shooting? My two friends have little experience with firearms and driving back to my place in Maine is pretty much out of the question. I have several years of experience with firearms and I have a C&R. We're located in Erie and would be willing to reimburse for ammo.

I'm up in Allentown now, and am usually down to go shooting should any other LV peeps want to get together. At some point once I get settled, I'm going to join up at Ontelaunee which is about 15 miles from me and goes all the way out to 300 yards, and doesn't have a lot of the bs membership requirements a lot of clubs around here seem to be so fond of.

Woah, where the gently caress did that range come from? They do IDPA AND USPSA. I actually don't even want to shoot IDPA seriously because they consider the idea of offering cash prizes to the winner to be a horrible thing. Also don't they make you start concealed? I might join this range as well to access the matches and indoor range for the cold and rainy times.

Well, at least they claim that. That Beretta Neos I bought in the other thread... well, that's for use at the Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League. Funny thing is, my fiancee lives in Hellertown and I didn't hear about this place until fairly recently.

I've picked up some nice deals in their bargain cave. Speaking of Topton, I really need to send in my application. Getting the shits of the unsafe freaks at game land ranges. Some of the ranges around Reading seem more like social clubs than gun clubs. They seem more proud of their bar than anything else.

This is awesome and you are awesome. I realize there are a bunch of new faces coming to this thing, looking forward to meeting more PA goons. I don't know exactly what i will be driving that day, so I either have the van or my car, my ride offering ability is just a bit up in the air. I'll firm it up soon, but at the very least i can take 4 people packed in , or 3 with ball-room.

Anyone in the north west area of Pittsburgh should check it out. 200m rifle range with CMP targets, 25m pistol range, skeet, trap, and 5 position. The only thing I wish it had was some 3 gun. I'm shopping around for decent ranges in this general area. Do they have any open shoots or public hours? Feel like bring me along for a few hours for some pistol shooting some day?

I miss you fuckers. Even Foghorn, whom I've seen pretty recently. I had fun in Waco, but I wish the weather had been good enough to stay and watch. I've been off the forums for a minute, I'm glad to see you have a new thread. Texans don't get me out shooting that much, PA holds that crown. They are also insane when it comes to the firearms they choose to own. Went out shooting with a PGO Mossberg and a TEC-9. It was pretty gangster, but not very practical. The reason they shoot those things sideways is because the sights aren't aligned correctly.

Roundboy or DKHelmet can I grab a ride with one of you? Do Philly folks want to drive down together or is everyone going separately? If anyone is coming on the 19th for shotguns (yes sponge, shotguns and clay targets only. So, with da sponge + 1, we'll either need a third golf cart or we can say gently caress it and just walk/stroll/saunter. I'm happy to offer a ride for goons in Philly, just make sure your gun case isn't too large (my trunk sucks). How about we say where we're located, the Philly area is large. I'm next to Manayunk.

Then if we decide to do any 5 stand i think that is 25 shots a pop. I am personally grabbing 2 bulk packs, and bringing the left overs from other boxes. shooting 200 rounds of 12g will turn your shoulder into tender and tasty, meat.
