Game developers can add it to their already existing games with a patch, and some have already done so. A lot of upcoming games such as Gran Turismo 5 and Killzone 3 will have 3D support right out of the box. Blu-ray movies are also supported. Sony has made it known that they are really going to push 3D on this system. They make 3D HDTVs anyways, so it makes sense. The Playstation 3 is becoming hands down the best platform to view 3D content. The Official PS3 Headset It will work with not only your PS3 but with Bluetooth enabled cell phones. This is not your only option for a PS3 headset however, there is a huge selection of bluetooth headsets that work with the PS3 aswell as a wide selection of USB headsets also. As for this official one however:
Playstation Eye The Playstation Eye is the successor to the Eyetoy for the PS2. It's a much higher quality camera complete with microphone for use in videochat, as an in-game microphone or with a variety of software for the PS3. It originally came bundled with the game Eye Of Judgement which made use of it's motion sensing capabilities and has since gone on to support games such as Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Burnout Paradise, with upcoming support for games such as Little Big Planet if you wish to upload your own art assets to the game for use in user-created levels. You can also use it with the free downloadable program EyeCreate to record and edit your own movies, and with upcoming titles such as EyePet. Fragnstein Designed for people who would like mouse aiming in games. It can be used with ANY PS3 game at all, and has fully customizable firmware, allowing you to tweak sensitivity and button mappings to your liking. The build quality is solid, and many goons swear by it. The elitist COD4 top scorers love it too if that means something to you. Playstation Move Coming September 17th The Playstation Movie is Sony's answer to the motion control trend and so far is shaping up to be the most promising. Check out the Move thread for more information. This is a great trailer for the PS Move: Kevin Butler's Epic PlayStation Move-tage [list][*]Online play on the PS3 is entirely free of charge. The PS3's online network, which includes multiplayer games, friends lists, messaging (video, voice and text chats), a web browser and access to the PlayStation Store are all free. The PlayStation Store is far more than just demos and microtransactions for games however. Developers also have access to an API that lets them access the store from the game, with each having it's own front end with just that game's products. Outside of games, the Store offers both standard and hi-def trailers for movies and games, PS one games (complete with digital manual and playable on both the PS3 and PSP, plus the saves can be shared between the two so you can continue on the go), and of course all those little add-ons and demos for released and upcoming games. Besides that there is also a large quantity of games available to buy on the PSN. These all vary from region to region but there has been a push to substantial PSN game releases with large downloadable titles. I got a big huge hard drive and need to put it into FAT32 ha;lp McLarenF1 posted:This Website has this tool and this GUI file. It will format any size partition (I did a 124 GB) to FAT32. Just partition and quick format a drive to NTFS (Windows 7 has built in tool, just search "create and manage disk partitions"), then save the two previosuly linked files to a common folder (NOT on the soon to be reformatted disk), run the GUI exe file and select the desired drive and format it to FAT32. That's it, you're done! Blu-ray Playback?! If you're interested in watching HD movies on Blu-ray, the PS3 (any version) is currently the best value for your money. Priced similarly to other comparable players it offers an internal hard drive for data storage, and internet connection for BD-Live, and DivX playback. Basically, it's the best blu-ray player on the market, and feature updates have kept it consistently so. Movies play in up to 1080p over component and HDMI, though around 2012 studios will have the option of restricting full HD to HDCP secured HDMI connections only. No disc currently does, and hopefully it won't come to pass, as it's frivolous to bootleggers anyways. What's This I Hear about Keyboard & Mouse? That's right, the PS3 allows any game that chooses to implement it to use Keyboard and Mouse controls. Unreal Tournament 3 supports it. Now, many games have chosen not to as well, for fear of the game being unbalanced. Can I make a PSN account for different regions Yes you can. You need an original e-mail address for each one you want to create. During the account creation process, just selection the country that you want to access to the PSN store too. When is the PSN Store updated? Every Tuesday around 6pm Pacific Time. You can still get full HD without HDMI dammit Both component and DVI will allow 720p/1080p signals for games if your TV supports it. The only catch is that Blu-Ray movies will eventually (in 2012) have the option to require HDMI on a per-disc basis. For games, your trusty PS2 component cables will work just fine -- for that matter all PS2 cables will work. However, if you are using an HDMI cable, it needs to be connected to a HDCP-compliant device or you'll get no video/audio. If your TV doesn't support HDCP via HDMI/DVI, you'll have to use one of the above-mentioned connections. What's the cheapest place for HDMI cables? https://www.monoprice.com In fact this is hands down one of the best websites to shop on for TV, audio, and computer equipment. Comes highly recommended by a lot of goons. I want to stream my gay porn to my HDTV, from my PC http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/ Works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. If I loving replace the hard drive in my PS3 with a bigger one, will it void my warranty? Hell naw son. In fact, there is a section in Sony's manual which shows you exactly HOW to replace the hard drive. Pretty neato, eh? Don't bother with a Solid State drive though. It increases install times, while providing at most a 2 second boost in some scenarios. I hosed up, and now my PS3 won't output video to my TV. If you happen to use the PS3 on another display or you just start messing with the settings and screw things up follow these simple instructions: 1. Turn off your PS3. 2. Power it on by holding the power button for at least 5 seconds. You will hear a delayed beep. 3. Profit . The PS3 will automatically detect what it needs to output to, and at that point you should be prompted with a wizard. Follow it. To the land of Oz. So the max resolution is up to the developer. Most just do 720p, its that way with the 360 too. The vast majority of console games are really 720p. As far as differences go, it really doesn't matter anyways.

I guess Sony really were just holding back backwards compatability to try and make a little cash with HD rereleases of games such as God of War and Sly Cooper This sounds like bullshit to me, I would be really surprised if this were true. I suppose it is possible, but putting that one in the category of over excited freeloaders that just want to pirate games. You have to be careful what you read on a lot of these homebrew websites, their communities can be pretty dumb.

There are a few devices with legit homebrew discussion; Xbox, PSP, Wii, and Nintendo DS. Yeah piracy is possible on all of those, but that doesn't mean it should be banned. In the case of the PS3, I kinda agree we probably shouldn't be talking about it right now, as there is no homebrew or even any proof of concept of homebrew being possible.

You don't get to pick and choose which copyright laws you want to follow. These games are still protected, and it is piracy to play them on your psp. Especially since a lot of these games are available still for digital purchase on other platforms. If you are playing Super Mario RPG on your PSP, thats a pretty clear cut case of piracy.

You won't be able to play any games online, a lot of backups don't work or crash a lot (where their legit disc versions don't crash at all), and who knows if any real homebrew will be made or not.
