i looked into it and there has been a Big Brother or Celebrity Big Brother on telly for approximately a third of the year in every year since 2011 and there have now been more than 400 contestants on BB and its spin-off shows since the show started. Also all the contestants who were on Teen BB will be 30 next year :aaa:

ITV's Judge Rinder is possibly the bestworst daytime TV I have ever seen. Jeremy Kyle's subjects in Judge Judy's court with an incredibly camp ex-barrister presiding.

Speaking of TV barristers, teatime is not the same without The Chase :( There is a new show in its slot called Unwrapped where couples try to win the presents from their wedding lists. The one thing that makes it watchable is Eamonn Holmes dropping cheeky innuendos every few minutes and also openly taking the piss out of the prizes which yesterday included a patio heater and a shrubbery.

Him or that twonk of a Jumper-Wearing Jordan creature. (Or Elderly Scottish Norman, but I hope it's not him. He's endearingly set in his ways and cranky and utterly unimpressed by The Hollywood)

Farewell Jordan, and your horrible jumpers with the matching hairclips. You made strawberry-flavoured raw cake goo when you were meant to make a bread loaf, foolish boy.

Next week looks fun! Mary Berry looks ominously full of disapproval over something. I like it when Mary Berry goes disapproving. She's scary.

C4 is bringing back the just awful Gadget Man, but this time with Richard Ayode instead of Stephen Fry for some weird reason. I saw Adam Buxton in the trailer though so I'll watch at least one episode.
I tried to watch Bright Lights a 3 part documentary on important cities in time. I couldn't last 5 minutes before switching away from the presenter who I jealously detest for his fashion sense and flouncy gestures. It looked like it could be good?
Also I've binged on all of The Honourable Woman and I'll say it's good. I like how fearless it is in making no sense to the viewer until a second rewatch.

Yeah, I watched episode 1, which was excellent, missed 2 and decided just to binge-watch the whole thing once it's done in a couple weeks. People keep raving about it; hope I won't be disappointed (or too depressed by its' very relevant subject matter)

"This is a bit of a... a poof song"
The Honourable Woman has been great, but it seems to be going down the same route as The Shadow Line of throwing out all of its stylish ambiguity as it goes on, to be replaced by comically absurd climaxes (e.g. in last weeks episode when the brother gets assassinated and then the wife shows up and then she kills the guy and then is giving birth as the police storm in) which sort of undermine the quality of everything that has preceded them.

I'm usually all for writers not having their ideas meddled with improved by clueless people, but it's absolutely painful how much Hugo Blick just needs someone to stand behind him with a rolled-up newspaper while he's writing, and occasionally whack him round the head and bark "what's going on? who's doing all this? why do I, the audience, care?"

hahaha gently caress I'm watching the most ridiculous thing on 4od. Bunch of weirdoes perusing Thai/Russian brides like they're reading an argos catalogue then trying to argue that there's nothing wrong with that and they are not terrible human beings. And then the girls trying to pretend they're not in it for the money. Mike is the gooniest of all goons and is hilarious, cringeworhy, depressing, and creepy in equal measure.

Nope, there's nothing about a new series on the BBC's website, all the BBC are showing is repeats of series 7, episode 5 is on next Friday.

Wikipedia says the series has been recorded since about February (it links to a tweet from Rob Brydon talking about the recording) I read it was due to start in August too, although I would think it would have been mentioned by now. I have no idea why they'd sit on it so long, I'd love to see the series again.

I was flipping through telly channels just now and there is an episode of a new series of Dragons' Den on BBC2. I thought I'd mention because I like this show and had no idea they've been showing a new series of it for 6 weeks. It's all on iPlayer, yay! Also they have taken out the silly overly dramatic music they had for a while and I think it's a lot better for it.

Yesterday's episode ended with a very pissed off Kelly Hoppen as she basically got snubbed, it was amazing to watch.

She and Duncan basically agreed to work together for a 10% share each, and the businesswoman instead chose to go with Deborah even though she wanted 25%, their reactions after this were amusing.

To be fair, Id also give up the extra 5% to avoid working with those two miserable buggers. Deborah also nailed it with her "expanding the business" ideas.

The show is always at its best when someone has something really good and they all turn on each other to get in on it. I do miss Theo Pahitis. He was really unpredictable and given to occasional fits of giggles that seemed to leave everyone else in the room bewildered.
