Is that a new series? The first one was excellent and I was hoping they would bring it back for another.

Getting On was fantastic tonight. Probably the best episode yet. Few shows manage to keep me this consistently impressed, and sitcoms even less so.

This "all he does is remind you about things" poo poo that I keep hearing is also stupid poo poo that seems to be propogated (in jest) by less successful comedians and then proliferated by people who haven't even seen his standup. It's like saying all Stewart Lee does is talk slowly and repeat the same thing over and over. That's only a small part of his act. Disclaimer: Not a peter kay fan. Let's just be fair in our criticism

This is so good. I wonder how the animation is done. The hand movements in particular are really detailed I'm guessing all the characters have some kind of mechanical skeleton underneath.

Well he rose to fame as a one-liner standup. Being able to carefully write good one-line jokes probably doesn't come in very useful on panel shows (see also: milton jones).

A clip of a comedian bombing in front of a disinterested, demographically inappropriate audience is not really representative of their work. I've seen a similar clip of Louis CK bombing onstage.

90s Comedian is one of my favourite ever stand-up performances for the way the entire set is so carefully constructed, with like 10 different callbacks occurring at the end along with the amazing vomiting into the gaping anus of christ routine. 41st Best Standup is also excellent. After the first series of comedy vehicle I was kind of under the impression that his stuff must only work well in a fleshed-out 60 minute performance, but then I didn't really like If You Prefer A Milder Comedian either. I think I laughed about 3 times. Anyway if you're like me and aren't finding a lot of Lee's recent work funny then I urge you to check out some of his older material if you haven't already.

Whether or not the person was in on it is kind of irrelevant. I dunno why you think the audience were in on it though. It's not a new experiment and has been conducted with similar results in the past.
