Getting On was fantastic tonight. Probably the best episode yet. Few shows manage to keep me this consistently impressed, and sitcoms even less so.

Minimal water damage! That last line had me in stitches. I love that after all these years it's still as good as ever. Every time a new series starts I'm worried the quality will drop as with so many other long running shows, but it never happens.

This "all he does is remind you about things" poo poo that I keep hearing is also stupid poo poo that seems to be propogated (in jest) by less successful comedians and then proliferated by people who haven't even seen his standup. It's like saying all Stewart Lee does is talk slowly and repeat the same thing over and over. That's only a small part of his act.

Disclaimer: Not a peter kay fan. Let's just be fair in our criticism

Every bit of stand-up I've seen from Stewart Lee has made him seem incredibly bitter that he's never achieved a lasting mainstream success. This is no exception. It's an on-stage persona. Hope this helps!

Idents are just as redundant in video games. In fact more so when they show up every single time you run the game. Why do big companies love idents so much

90s Comedian is one of my favourite ever stand-up performances for the way the entire set is so carefully constructed, with like 10 different callbacks occurring at the end along with the amazing vomiting into the gaping anus of christ routine. 41st Best Standup is also excellent.

After the first series of comedy vehicle I was kind of under the impression that his stuff must only work well in a fleshed-out 60 minute performance, but then I didn't really like If You Prefer A Milder Comedian either. I think I laughed about 3 times.

Anyway if you're like me and aren't finding a lot of Lee's recent work funny then I urge you to check out some of his older material if you haven't already.

I'm not wholly sure what to make of it. Some of the sketches are very funny, but a lot of them rely on complete non-sequiturs and random wackiness. Still worth watching mind, if only for the one sketch where a woman trolls some dude who's raging about her bumping into his car.
This is hilarious, thanks for the heads up. I think it's closer to The Sketch Show than Smack the Pony (in that it's actually funny). The cast are all terrific and a few of the sketches had me in stitches. Also: tits!
