After almost a year...it's finally here: The second half of the fourth season of ![]() The Venture Brother! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co7Kf7qEJjs New episodes start this upcoming Sunday, September 12th at 11:30pm EST with The Diving Bell Vs. The Butter-glider. Here is what has happened to the characters in the first half of the Season: Brock Samson: After quitting OSI, Brock tried to get revenge on those that set him up. This lead him to Hunter, who is now a man again and is working for S.P.H.I.N.X. (S.P.H.I.N.X.!). S.P.H.I.N.X. (S.P.H.I.N.X.!) used to be the Cobra to OSI's GI Joe but they were defeated a long time ago. When Hunter wanted to start a new organization, the equipment was just being wasted so he figured it would be easier to use that then have create a new theme. What they do is take care of the villains that don't abide by the laws of organized villainy. Other members of S.P.H.I.N.X. (S.P.H.I.N.X.!) include Shore Leave, Mile High and the German Doctor that made Hunter a woman. They're operating from an unused facility on the Venture compound. Brock still cares for the boys but has been forced to keep his presence secret. At the end of the season it appeared this might have changed, but that might not be the case. Hank and Dean Venture: Hank has become more rebellious towards his father. This is only encouraged by Dermot, who continues to be an awesome douchebag. He spent most of the season rebelling against or being punished by his Father. He has grown his hair long and has taken to wearing Brock's jacket. He also continues to be the more danger seeking of the two brothers, often trying to actively fight off threats. He also briefly ran away and became the sidekick to the superhero Captain Sunshine. Dean continues to be encouraged to follow in his father's footsteps despite the fact that he really doesn't want to. So far this season he has been made Sovereign (only to give it up for plot reasons), learned the joys of prog rock, decided it's best if he was open to girls beyond Triana (who has gone to live with her Mother after a talk with The Master), found out he's starting to lose his hair, started a fire trying to remedy this hair problem and grown a bad teen mustache. Rusty Venture Rusty continues to just watch everything with disdain. Not much has happened with him this season other than him accepting that, all things considered, his life isn't that bad (at least compared to other former boy wonders). Sergeant Hatred After Brock left, OSI assigned Hatred to be the Ventures' bodyguard. He is on medication to suppress his pedophile urges, but it's really not working very well. He isn't a very good Bodyguard and it kills him that Hank doesn't respect him. He has taken a liking to Giant Boy Detective for obvious reasons. Also, he might have slept with Billy. Number 21 Since the death of Number 24, 21 has really got his poo poo together. He is practically a legend in the Monarch's army, becoming the guy who can get things done. He attempted to take revenge on those he blamed for 24's death but in he end determined it was mostly his fault. He has 24's skull and he often talks to his ghost. 24's ghost tells him key things and helps him in sticky situations. Whether this is all in his head is yet to be determined. He has started defying the monarch more, often going out to do stuff on his own. He has come so this season that Brock was actually impressed by his fighting ability and the season ended with him and Brock taking on a villain named Monstroso who was attempting to screw over the Monarch and the Ventures. He also still has a thing for Dr Girlfriend. Phantom Limb Phantom Limb has gone off the deep end, trying to reclaim the guild with his new team: The Revenge Society. The group consists of himself, a coffee mug (Wisdom), a toaster (Chuck), and one of Doctor Girlfriend's shoes (Lady Nightshade). He tried to reclaim ORB, but when he activated it, he found it was broken (having been broken by Col. Venture bodyguard). If I didn't mention a character, assume that things are pretty much the same with them as they were at the end of season 3. If I missed anything important, just let me know and I'll update the OP. If you want to see the previous part of the season for yourself, the first half of the season will be available on DVD on October 26th but you might want to hold out until they release the whole thing at once (especially if you want the bluray). So now that that's out of the way let's get on with the constant speculation that is never right, asking when Kim is coming back and the constant reminders that THIS IS A SHOW ABOUT FAILURE! Oh...and before you ask my avatar is from this scene. ![]() Some links and stuff! Doc Hammer's DeviantArt Page. Doc Hammer's Myspace Jackson Publik's Livejournal James Ubaniak's Youtube Channel IanJ is actually an animator for show, but seriously don't harass him or anything. Lastly, I didn't know where else to put this, but I needed to put it somewhere

What prog rock album did Dean almost put on that Rusty said might turn him into an evil superscientist? King Crimson?

I just watched all of the season 3 episodes with commentary on and followed it up with a run-through of season 4 on my DVR. I am so ready for Sunday. Also, shame on you for no mention of the Order of the Triad. Jefferson is so incredibly magic now. More also, Wisdom (the spiritual heart of the team) is dead, accused of being Sovereign.

Whoo hoo! Finally! I think this is as good an excuse as any to re-watch season 4. Looking forward to seeing more 21!

Is it Sunday yet?! God, can't wait...I also ran through season 4 the other week and am so psyched! I'm really interested in what they are going to do with Brock...he was at the dinenr table at the last scene, but I'm guessing still working for S.P.H.I.N.X. (S.P.H.I.N.X.!), so what gives? Pulling a little double duty? I mean...if they thought that Hank and Dean could handle knowing Brock was in S.P.H.I.N.X. (S.P.H.I.N.X.!) then why did they blank their memory?

For once it doesn't feel like it's been all that long since new episodes. I actually remembered what happened in the previous season (which never usually happens with year plus long gaps).

Thankfully I binged through all the seasons in the last month or so with a friend who had never seen them. All caught up. I have the monster truck rally commercial guy voice in my head going "SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!"

I have three more episodes to go before I'm all caught up. I just started watching this show a month ago after hearing an interview with the creators and oh my god, it is the best thing ever. I can't wait for the 12th!

I mentioned it briefly in the other thread, but you can get the fantastic soundtrack on Vinyl. J. G. Thirlwell's score just sets the show apart from so many others. It has such a retro sound, which fits with the odd 60s/early 70s decor of the show.

We've gone from "You Masturbate Enough" to "I Once Jerked Off Twelve Times In One Day". I think that twelve times is enough.

Oh hey, they're finally starting up again! Can anyone explain why they're still calling it "Season 4" even though they took a whole year since the last episode we saw? For that matter, why did they take that huge hiatus after a half-length season?

Farmer Crack-rear end posted:Oh hey, they're finally starting up again! If they hadn't scheduled the hiatus, we would've had to wait longer for the full season since they would held off post-production work on the first eight episodes in order to do work for the last eight.

While there is the first half of the season coming out on October 26th, and obviously prompting a second half release months down the road, there's yet to be any kind of announcement either way in regards to a complete season release. Like someone said a number of posts back, maybe for Blu-Ray?

The venture brothers just keeps on getting better and better. The one thing I didnt like about last season though was how in the trailer they kept making it look like dean eventually dies in it. Seems like we get a return of what I presume are the hank and dean clones. And I thought that Brock rejoined the ventures (See the last scene in the last episode)

For $24.99 you can get the "Season Pass" on iTunes. This means you can view the first 8 episodes now and will be able to watch the next 8 "as they become available." Personally I'm holding out for the bluray!

Some new interviews and videos are starting to emerge. Here's a Wired interview with Doc and Jackson. http://www.wired.com/underwire/2010...e-bros/?pid=864 There are at least two videos of scenes from the next episode floating around but they are definitely spolierific.
