You could clean up your desktop a lot more if you put a bunch of that poo poo on the other sections of the dock and/or used folder organizer (there's a free lite version) to make some folders to sort poo poo into categories.

DrBouvenstein posted:Ok...but all that swiping and/or clicking is just as much work as opening the app drawer. It's a lot easier for me to have my most used programs on one of my three desktops, At most, it's one swipe and one click. Not three swipes through my dock, then a swipe up, then a click, then do the hokey-pokey...but you didn't have to open the app drawer, so I guess you win! The dock has 3 'screens,' so it's at most one swipe and a click or a swipe to launch, giving you 30 actions just as easily while looking way nicer. It's literally just as easy but much nicer looking. Combine that with folder organizer and desktop visualizer and you have some really nice looking shortcuts to "folders" as well. big mean giraffe fucked around with this message at Nov 11, 2010 around 00:15 |

landis posted:To expand on what Casao says, you have to change the images in the framework itself, so you have to either load a ROM that has what you want or find a mod that matches your phone's framework. Or find the images and edit them yourself. The ROMs that have that feature don't do it via images, they're displaying text over top of the battery image.

Maybe CM6/MIUI does it different, but I know you can mod your framework's images to do that. Yes I'm sure, a custom image solution involves a modded framework with 100 seperate images, and is a stupid, lovely solution.

You can make launchers like LP look just like the stock one if for some reason you hate more features and stuff, and then use scrolling widgets. Plus if you buy LPP there are some awesome full screen widgets like scrolling friends (facebook and/or twitter,) messaging, calendar, and now gmail too.
