Sadly, from what I hear he doesn't get any money at all from book sales.

Whoops.

I somehow got it into my head that the spider in the treatise symbolized one of the spirits that guided the dead, but it turns out we never see Ketrak in the comic. But considering Kat's reaction, I assume he's not just a spider himself.

I know what I'd do in that situation. Just stay in the elevator, continually going up and down until some poor victim help comes along.

After seeing this it makes perfect sense how the Court could grow out of a single seed Bismuth.

This chapter drags a bit on, but that's only because I want to see what happens when Jack uses the blinker stone.

Annie looks a bit derpy in today's second panel.

Is it just me, or does it look like the Foley students got the most run down buildings? Grime and cracks everywhere.

Oh good job, doofus. Now you've named all of them. That's the end of that class!

Nobody's discussing the real issue here, which is that Annie managed to remember a whole page of nonsense numbers while being extremely shocked and stressed out!

Stretching my suspension of disbelief here, Tom.

Can you explain how? Annie's dad had already agreed on the key to use, so you can't manipulate that.

He could predict what the first part of his message would be, and arrange the key after that. For example, if he was pretty sure his message would start with "I require...", he could engineer Annie's name in there.

Considering that he asked for Annie, and that he included such a feature in his code, I'd say he wanted her to hear him speak her name. Though it still makes him somewhat an rear end in a top hat for not spending a few seconds talking to her directly.

My guess was that he reached for the door handle in case anyone nearby saw him, so as to not attract suspicion, then quickly switched to his own teledoor when the coast was clear. It just looks funny either way, though.

Nope, the door handle is on the side he didn't punch through. You can see it in panel 3.

No. No, it doesn't. Some times a stylish door is just a stylish door.

Clearest evidence for her not being a robot: Eglamore wouldn't be looking that comfortable resting his head in her lap if she was made out of metal (or stone, for that matter).

One thing that stands out in today's comic is the "Thank the Lord" line - is this the first hint about religion in the Court's world? (Apart from robo-religion)

While the art is gorgeous, I feel this chapter is dragging on a bit. Yes, we get it, Jones doesn't age. Now, get to the start of it all.

ymgve
Jan 2, 2004

This does nothing at all to explain how she can have a lap comfortable enough for Eglamore.

Also, dear Avatar Fairy:

You have too much money.

Give some to Tom instead of blowing it all on avatars.

I disagree, considering how robots view inactivity/mobility (death) I'd say this is pretty hyper-violent.

Annie, mass murderer.

Then again, robots can be turned on again, so I don't see it as equivalent to human brain death.

Of course, you can't just go around pushing robots' off buttons! You need to initiate the shutdown sequence and wait for this

Now the poor robots have to go through hours of scandisk when they are reactivated.

There's something weird about Kat's right arm. It doesn't seem to properly "connect" with the lower arm holding Annie's hand. It's like someone's slightly out of frame pretending to be Kat's arm.
