are you serious you think that it is more likely that earl isn't actually home and that this is all a hoax rather than that he is trying to keep a low public profile?

that's monumentally, mind-blowingly dumb

Or is it just their collaborations that sound like this? ..I don't know anything about hip-hop but I'm really diggin' this!

Give EARL and Bastard a listen for some of the best odd future material. All of the EarlWolf collab stuff is amazing.

Earl and Bastard are tons better than any of the stuff they've put out recently. I think Tyler's flow sucks on all his stuff now, it's too choppy and stuff. It's a lot better on bastard.

Thirding Bastard and EARL. Blackenedwhite has really grown on me though.

Speaking of Tyler's flow, I think his worst verse must be on Mike G's Timeless. Choppy and amatuer as gently caress. I know Mike G isn't exactly the key player in OF but a little bit of effort wouldn't have gone astray.

The whole crew keeps talking about the big surprise they have for the NY show on 3/20 (the same day as the release of their album and the official return of Earl to Odd Future). Then all of the Odd Future skate crew + The Internet + Kelly Clancy talked about flying out to NY. Then Earl said "I wish I could disclose my location right now" on Twitter. Then Matt Martians tweeted this pic from JFK Airport.

That's about as much confirmation as I need.

Odd Future Mixtape Vol. 2 is absolutely superlative in every goddamn way. EARL being the grand finale? Perfect. Tyler's flow quickly maturing? Absolutely. His rhymes on Sam (Is Dead) are the best I think he's ever done.

Warning: if you don't like Domo Genesis then you might have a problem. He, Tyler and Hodgy are the big three here.

Domo's really stepped it up, he's barely the lazy stoner rapper he once was. Even Hodgy has trouble keeping up with him at times.

Hodgy kills it on 50 though, that is not an easy beat to rap over, let alone with such aggression.

Really impressed with a lot of it. Almost every single member has put in their best effort, even Earl kills it in his cameo.

So it's weird that Tyler is the weak link of the album. His part in Rella is good, but the rest of it feels very lazy for him. It's a shame, since he's completely capable of going on to someone's track and completely dominating it (Couches.) He sort of just raps in a very awkward and predictable flow. Maybe working with Earl will motivate him to step his game up again. God has gifted you with the voice of Satan, Tyler, don't go wasting it.

Also Frank Ocean is almost too good for this album, to the point where he sticks out like a sore thumb.

Here's an interview they did with Tyler, Taco, and Earl. The focus seems to be on Earl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...d&v=s8SU097uOPA

Earl says that he went away not because of rapping, but because he was "loving up" in life. So I guess that's put to rest.

I was just coming here to see if this was posted yet and I'm glad that someone else did.

It seemed at first from the tweets that he was sending out that he wasn't going to be involved with OF, but it looks like it was some kind of clever plan to throw everyone else off.

Also if anyone in NYC was planning on going to the pop up shop over on Orchard street, according to the instagram/twitter of Reed space and it's owner Jeff Staple and word of mouth from a few different sources, the line was supposedly 2,000 (sounds very unrealistic) people deep this morning. 200 is more realistic, but then again we are talking OF here so it could be real.
