I think you forgot the "ever" part before that last word.

Here's what it say's when you buy a song:

quote:

PLEASE NOTE: Rock Band game disc is required to play song game tracks. Many Rock Band song game tracks are available as both a multipack and as a single game track. These song game tracks are exactly the same (unless expressly noted as a special version or remix). Be aware that it is possible to download the same song game track twice so please carefully consider your purchases. For music credits, visit http://www.rockband.com.

So, unless it had Rock Band or Rock Band 2 game disc stated on either songs before the release of Rock Band 3, then they could be in some trouble. Even worse, is those songs are in that included DLC list.

The Madcatz stand should be $30 across the board, at least in the US. I got mine and it feels great!

As far as I can tell they don't exist in Canada yet. EB doesn't even have them listed on the site anymore, but my store said they would be coming eventually. I just hope they get here in time for the free Doors songs.

You should probably sue them because DLC doesn't work in the ACDC track pack and because some tracks won't play in Lego Rock Band as well, then.

Boll Weevil if you're making notes about bugs I think I have (a really minor) one:

The Jackson Custom Kelly w/ reversible neck guitar doesn't seem to add art correctly. Art appears on the 2 small pickups under the strings and cannot be moved onto the body. Every other guitar has the art appear on the body and in RB2 this particular Jackson guitar had it appear on the body also.

The difference is we know which tracks won't play in Lego Rock Band and that DLC doesn't work in ACDC. No one knew about any of these missing DLC until RB3 launched, when they were removed from marketplace, rockband.com and the game, after when you purchased it you were told that they were compatible with future games. And what about people who are just getting into Rock Band 3, took a look at the music stores prior hand (which you can, because there's individual "apps" for exploring them) and purchased these songs expecting them not to all of a sudden dissapear?

If you ever have your hardware die out, won't you be mad that you can never get those songs again? Especially since you paid for them?

All they have to do is give refunds and that will be fine, but if they play this Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil thing, then that's unacceptable.

I'm pretty much done with Expert guitar career now, golded all the Challenges and got Hall Of Fame entry. I have no big problems with the game apart from the niggles people have already mentioned - probably the one that irritates me most is the lack of continuity in the actual stage show. My singer will be holding the mic stand above his head in one shot, then it'll cut to a different angle and it'll be back on the floor. There are some issues with animations as well - the appropriate way to sing Imagine is not "while dancing from side to side with the mic stand tipped over", and the keyboard animation is shockingly poor and awkward.

The game is excellent, and the setlist is great, but every time I see a really obvious flaw like that it's like a little red light in the corner of my eye, distracting me. I could even understand it for the DLC songs, but you'd think some continuity editing could have been done with the ones they specifically chose for the disc.

I hope someone starts a class action lawsuit about it.

Actually it's pretty much acceptable! That thing you quoted doesn't say ANYWHERE that the DLC will be compatible with any future games. Or are you saying that it should say that it might NOT work?

My Mass Effect DLC doesn't work with Mass Effect 2, but it doesn't say that it won't in the description! Suck on this class-action lawsuit, Bioware!!!

That's how I remember it. RB2 promised backward compatibility with all DLC, and it did. I guess you can argue it was IMPLIED for RB3 but they never actually said anything of the sort.

I'm pretty sure in some interview somewhere someone said all previous DLC will work, but new RB3 will not be backwards compatible. If you want to split hairs that could mean they'll all be available instead of working technical wise.

EDIT: And there's that. VVVV I'm not siding with Methodis in the slightest, but it is lovely they didn't give a heads up.

That doesn't, but this does:

http://www.rockband.com/support/old-dlc-rb3

"Yes. Any tracks that you have purchased through the Rock Band Music Store will automatically populate in your Rock Band 3 Music Library when you insert the game disc."

http://www.rockband.com/support/old-dlc-new-features
"All Rock Band on-disc and DLC songs released before Rock Band 3 will have Pro Drums built in. Select DLC songs will be re-released with the new parts in the future, for a small upgrade price. Stay tuned to the Rock Band Blog for details about DLC upgrades and all DLC news."

But that's not part of any purchase agreement. The website could say "All your DLC will make you sprout a vagina filled with toads on your chest" and they wouldn't need to make that happen.

(and also technically ALL the songs DO have pro drums, whether or not you can use them in a game with Pro Drums as a mode.)

edit: I wonder if there's some escape clause from a lawsuit if you make a statement that is only ~99.75% true.
