I guess I'll try the practice mode and lowering the difficulty. My biggest problem is just not being aware of where my hands are at. I'm guessing it's just something you get a feel for after awhile. Thanks.

On a related note, I've been using three cymbals on the Ions since they were released, and RB3 Pro Drums is the answer to my prayers. It actually makes using cymbals easier than it's been until now, because I get a visual cue to hit a cymbal, rather than playing through it and learning by ear what gets played where.

So I'm still waiting for my bundle to arrive, so I went ahead and bought a regular copy of rock band 3 to tide me over. Is the game inside the bundle sealed? That's the one I'd like to return when my bundle shows up, but need to check before opening.

Well, for one thing they stopped the consistent problem of double hitting my Ion cymbals had. Second, they feel better and less jarring when you hit them, and thirdly they're much quieter, making a dull thump rather than the plastic reverb whack of the Ions. Unless you're actively having a problem with your red pad (I've been pounding mine for nearly two years now without a single hiccup), I'd go with the cymbal replacement.

So is anyone (PS3) able to play online without the game crashing? Us 4, (2x faketar, pro drums, vox) couldn't play 3 songs without someone dropping. We were able to play in RB2 for hours no problem. Also is there a trick to getting your DLC to load faster? I wouldn't mind so much if the game didn't crash so often.

Apparently the "return/replace with no receipt" thing DOES work, but only for certain departments' items, and only for stuff under $50.

Might invest in some while the Australian dollar is kicking rear end. I've been pounding my red pad for two years too, and the pad is wearing out and sinking in quite deeply into the actual drum head. I've swapped it with my green pad now, but the idea of a nice, mesh, bouncy snare head sounds great.

I got my Mustang Pro today and even though I've been playing guitar for years, it's kicking my rear end. I'd read reviews from guitar players complaining about the lack of differing widths of the buttons. I didn't realize before how much I've relied on string gauge to feel out where I was on the fretboard. Although I still think this would be perfect for people new to guitar, it's definitely a shock to entrenched players. I think playing the Mustangs's more difficult, so learning on one and then going on to a real guitar will end up being a good thing for newcomers. I'll be trading up for the Squier when it comes out.

Anyone else getting a lot of missed notes that are clearly hit? Ive calibrated the gently caress out of this thing, but even tho I'm strumming at the right time, and playing songs I've 100%'d in RB2, I'm missing stupid amounts of notes that are killing my multiplier, and making me feel lovely (I am, but the point of the game is to feel like I'm not). Or am I just a tard who needs to keep loving with the calibration until I die. Drums and Keyboard feel ok, but I don't play those past medium right now. Still getting used to Pro modes. Guitar is what seems to miss a lot. Happens with both guitars. Both of them are about 2 years old... is this an age thing? Do the magnetic switches wear out?

Crossposting from the POWER GIG Thread (so everyone can enjoy)quote:The story introduces you to the world of Ohm, a planet where music is like a religious experience, and represents power. At one time, Ohm was a peaceful, blissful place where musicians (Rocker Clans) existed and played in "harmony and happiness." But as all good things in games go, it comes to an end, this time by the hand of a monarch called Headliner, who has concentrated musical power by collecting the Three Divine Instruments. In lieu of this, the Clans said "we're not gonna take it!" and attempted to rebel. But Headliner issued the Edict of Silence, which outlaws the playing of music by the Clans in the capital city of Resonance, which forces them to play in make shift venues in locales like junkyards, subways, and forests. Ohm's only hope is the combination of the musicians from the three main Clans (Rise, Riffriders, and Zehn) to bring an end to Headliner's reign and bring tranquility and equilibrium back to the world. This is where Unite the Clans mode picks up and places you at the front of this resistance by rockin' out with the different members from each group.
