I really need help drumming. I'm finally getting the hang of the kick pedal, but I have some sort of physical limitation when it comes to some of the kick patterns. If two kicks are too close to each other, it just feel physically impossible for me to hit them both. I can't go down-up-down fast enough, and if I try to just go halfway up in between them, my tendon in the front of my ankle gets so tight it shakes like mad and it takes me about a half-second to get control of it, by which time I've missed the boat and I'm completely off beat and I have no idea where I am in the song anymore. Is this just something I have to practice with enough until I build up the calf strength to pull it off, or am I just a broken man who won't ever get to play expert drums?

So if Harmonix were to get bought by another publisher say, EA or Activision, what are the odds that Rock Band dlc and exports would work in a potential Rock Band 4?
|
| # ? Nov 11, 2010 16:50 |

That depends on if they get to keep the Rock Band title and property or if Viacom gets it.

Viacom is selling Harmonix because they aren't interested in the music game business. I'm sure Harmonix's IP will be included in any deal.

There's an official Viacom Selling Harmonix Q&A thread on the Rock Band forums, and it took less than 10 posts for things to turn stupid:quote:3) It's rumored that next week is a Bee-Gee's pack including "Stayin' Alive." I do not think this is in any way a coincidence. HMX knew the 10-Q filing would be out around this time, and is clearly trying to send a message to us all without having any official statement made.

Does anyone know if there's a do it yourself fix to the plug in jacks on the back of the drum unit? No one is replacing my poo poo, and it's not like I knew this problem existed because the cymbals didn't come out till recently, so I guess I have to open it up on my own and see what's wrong with it.

You could do what I did with my drums: open it up, see that the wires are all disconnected and whatnot, then throw it on the curb and buy a new set! (I had RB1 drums, so it was time for them to go. You should probably still open it up, the problem should be at least somewhat obvious.)

I think I might have to do that. I bought these drums back in July FOR Rock Band 3. It's the Beatles Special Edition ones. Ugh, I have a RB1 drum set that works but it doesn't have the drat ports. Ugh.

Has the Lego Rock Band export issue been taken care of? I recall people saying that the website was erroring out with a "no codes available" message or something. Right, because everything has to be ponies and rainbows in the Rock Band thread. You can never have a good discussion on a company that could very well fold depending on who buys them, or end up being even better out of this dreadful situation. A big part of the video game industry is sales. As I stated before Rock Band 3 came out, the sales of RB3 will determine the future, and that there was a rumor going around that Rock Band 3 would be the last one. I was called a idiot, stating facts built on nothing. But it turned out that it was true, or at least, partially. Nothing in this forums rules states anything about not talking about negative sales for a game. If you don't like it, then just ignore it. Just because it's not going your way doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The fact of the matter is, if Rock Band 3 sold a lot, or even more than Guitar Hero, there would've been PR headlining it's great success, instead there was silence, and we get this today. Or you know, you could spin it into them being quiet because they sold so much that the piles of money they're swimming in is so big they can't talk without money falling into it. Do you like that better? (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)
|
| # ? Nov 11, 2010 18:46 |

I guess sales must be low since between my friends we only have one copy of rockband stuff. Still, we've spent so much money over the years on songs I just can't believe that rockband doesn't turn a profit.

Do you like that better? If you think this today had anything to do with sales of Rock Band 3, well, it just goes to show how ignorant you are. A decision like this isn't made in the process of a few days. This is from the 3Q earnings report, which isn't something you just generate on the spot and release. It takes preparation, as does a decision like selling off a division of your company, and it's not something that you do on a whim. Basically, if the company's announcing it now, you can bet that this was in the works prior to the release of RB3, and the only impact the sales of RB3 has on this is that it didn't somehow turn into such a massive hit, like a Modern Warfare 2 level launch, that you'd have to put the brakes on the process to sell them. Now, if this had been, say, early January and this decision had been announced, then, yeah, Rock Band 3 and Dance Central sales could be a central part of that decision. Two weeks after launch? Please.

Oh I know it's been in the works for a while, I didn't say this was in substitution, I said this was in addition to the silence. Which could also contribute on why they didn't release the numbers, as to not scare away potential buyers. But to say the sales didn't contribute could be wrong. Look at something like Blue Castle Games, where they were bought BECAUSE of Dead Rising sales, a week or two later. There is a reason this is out today, when NPD sales came out yesterday.
