Just because they don't export, that doesn't mean they're not technically part of the Rock Band franchise. I still have my Rock Band 1 disc just in case I ever get the urge to play Enter Sandman again.

I'm kind of having trouble with my Pro Cymbals. After only a couple songs, the poles will inevitably shake loose from the clamps, and will be in danger of falling clean off if I don't stop and readjust them. I've tightened the screws as far as they'll go with a pair of needle-nose pliers and this still happens. Anyone got advice?

edit: This mostly happens on the blue and green pole, since it's heavier. The yellow cymbal is pretty much fine.

I'm not that great at drums, but I figured I could handle Whip It's stuttery disco thing, but it completely kicked my rear end. The worst part was that I picked it for the last song in the last set of a road challenge, and I didn't want to find out if turning no fail on would mess up any of the previous progress. I ended up cheesing it by pretending the whole song was 8th note triplets. I don't know why I couldn't get a handle on the rhythm.

Probably because it's so goddamn fast. I remember way back in RB1, I would fail Run to the Hills over and over, even though I was sure I was doing 16th notes. Finally I just forced myself to blast 16th notes as fast as I could, and suddenly I was able to hold down a streak. I'm betting Whip It is a similar thing, where you just need to force yourself to go faster than you think you need to.

Do you have the clamps around the metal legs of the drum set? I initially made the mistake of trying that, when in reality they are supposed to fit snugly around the plastic cylinder that the metal legs go into. There is a ridge around the opening that the clamps will sit nicely on. That should stop them from wandering on you.

As an Xbox player, this has me worried. Does this mean that if I want to, say, just scroll through my list of songs, I'll have to go up to the midi adapter and press the up and down buttons on there? And then hit A to play the song? That sounds annoying as hell. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid.

Certain things on drums are just way easier to do if you don't have to do them on command. I can pull off all sorts of funky fun stuff behind a real drum set, but if you charted what I did into a Rock Band song it'd gently caress me up royally trying to recreate it exactly.

This explains exactly why I hate playing Who songs on the drums, even though The Who is one of my all-time favorite bands. Keith Moon couldn't keep a steady beat worth a drat and it translates into really awkward gameplay.

Hey Binowru, thanks for playing a few songs tonight. Was fun - sorry I didn't respond right away, as I was busy watching the credits, and sorry I didn't stick around for longer, but my eyes were going funny and now my couch is belly dancing at me.

Anyhow, playing online made me think of a few things that are odd about the online interface. It only takes one person to push things forward (the setlist, next song, whatever) but it took a little bit of guesswork. I just started the setlist after neither of us had added a song in a while, but I still felt kinda iffy about moving it forward without being certain Bin was done. Same with the between-song screens, though there you can at least tell if the person is scrolling around the stats. Bin wasn't, so I figured it was cool to hit green. Sorry if you were grabbing a drink or something!

No problem. That was my first time playing online, too, so I had no clue how it was supposed to work. The fact that you make a playlist now instead of picking one song at a time is interesting. Mostly, though, I needed a way to say "I'm done! Hit Play already!"
