A huge thanks to everyone from the last thread who helped me with recommendations in picking up RB/XBox stuff. Now I just need people to play online plastic guitars with me. My gamertag is GotBedurndurn. Please someone be my internet friend.

If you're still building a list of RB Goon gamertags, please add in GotBedurndurn.

I was downloading the RB2 export and my Xbox crashed (I came back and the screen was all crazy/corrupted and the console was unresponsive). Now I cannot actually do anything in RB3. Trying to launch any modes gives me a black screen except for the instrument status stuff in the overshell.

I'm going to have to delete all RB stuff from my HD aren't I?

Noticed something odd today. I tried to play Avenged Sevenfold's "Afterlife," and it wouldn't let me. The game gave me an error message saying something like I needed to download the latest Rock Band 3 update or something. I have no idea what they're talking about. Anyone encounter something similar or know what I should do?

I ran into the exact same thing last night. I don't really like that band, so I didn't try to play that one again. No idea whatsoever what would cause that.

I think I just broke my yellow cymbal. It worked perfectly out of the box, but now I cannot maintain a combo with the drat thing.

Is the penny fix just for ones that were wonky out of the box or is that the fix that Madcatz is likely to send me towards?

Anyone manage to get in touch with Madcatz lately? I've been trying to reach someone there since Monday. Their phone support goes dead after it tells me that my call is valuable to them, and my email to techsupport@madcatz.com bounced back as undeliverable.

Note to anyone contacting Madcatz support: If you call their phone line, it totally sounds like they hang up on you. If you stay on the line for 40 minutes of dead-loving-silence, a super nice man will finally pick up the phone and send you a replacement cymbal for free.

They badly, badly need some loving on-hold music or something, but they eventually get the job done.

As much as I like the full CD version of I Will Possess Your Heart, I can't imagine it'd be terribly compelling to play the same pattern over and over again for the whole song. Our poor bass player might have hung himself before we even hit the lyrics.

I keep ending up with negative numbers when I calibrate my lag. While I appreciate Harmonix's support for Dolby Predictive Audio, I do kind of wish it just errored out and told me what I was doing to gently caress it up.

I just noticed that Newegg has the Alesis DM6 drumkit thingy on sale for $250. Most of the e-drum kits I've seen are like double that. I'm interested in getting into non-videogame based drumming, is that a good set to start out on?

Is that someone loving around or did they actually license that for release? I remember setting my stereo system to record the Bob & Tom show onto cassette tapes. Christ I'm loving old...

I just wish I could play Pro Drums on The Beatles: Rock Band. It sucks that pirates with modded consoles who exported TB:RB tracks to RB3 can do it, but legitimate customers are left in the dust.

The cymbals still register as the appropriate colored pad don't they? Are you just missing the little cymbal icons and the ability to play from within the RB3 client?

Actually, nevermind, I already found the answer. I meant the windows version of Rocksmith that's coming out in a few months.

The one that's an actual guitar will work in Rocksmith. The crazy tons-of-buttons (the Mustang?) won't work. Rocksmith'll work with any real guitar.

Rocksmith has its own thread that will probably be more help.

I was searching for Rock Band themed wallpapers (like vector artwork or something I don't know) and I stumbled across this screenshot of Green Day Rock Band running at a ridiculously high resolution.
My assumption is this came straight from HMX, I can only wish my xbox could play the game this high-res. I have a 1080p monitor but xbox games don't play higher than 720.

It might be someone emulating the Wii version with Dolphin.
