So you can only export by having RB3? That's pretty disappointing to anyone who isn't upgrading right away to RB3.

Shredder posted:what else would you export the songs to Well, theoretically it could work in Lego:RB or RB1, but I meant more along the lines of being able to export it in RB2 and trade it in today, since I probably won't be getting RB3 on release. It's just weird how you can only export it in RB3, where every other title has a independent export in that game.

The game crashes more than FO:NV for me. That's a bad thing. Pro Keys is pretty hard but fun. I'm not really gelling with the tablature, which makes me wish they did somekind of "here's all the notes in the song, memorize them and then play it out" instead of relying on sight reading, and you can't (or atleast I haven't been able to figure it out), stop a song on a certain section to examine notes. Just small gripes though. Also Utnayan works for like 2K or something, so he's pretty knowledgeable in liscencing rights also. Obviously not as much as CptUnderpants, but to call him a "idiot" is pretty dumb.

It's crashing cause of my own stupidity and a 5 year old Xbox, not because of the game. It does crash on the sorting option, which is inexcusable, but most of the crashes are because of the hardware. What are some good guitar songs to play on keys? So far, Cold Rain & Snow is my favorite. Is there a separate leaderboard for playing guitar on Keys, because that's saying i'm in 4th and I got like...3 stars on it.

Shredder posted:drat, pro keys is tricky. I keep wanting to use my index finger for the first note. Apparently I have a thumb I'm supposed to use? You don't HAVE to use a thumb, it makes things extremely more complicated, but it's best to learn to use it, and if you don't like it after a while, drop it. Lots of musicians don't have all their fingers / motor skills and they did fine, a obvious example is Jerry Garcia.

If I'm someone who only plays drums on Hard difficulty, do I gain any fun at all from picking up the cymbals? Looking at them, they look like they'd add a lot, but if I'm not playing on Expert, I want to make sure it's not a waste. Also, make sure you enjoy that squishy strum bar feeling before deciding on a guitar. If you like it, take one of the suggestions here, but if you like the metronomic click of the Guitar Hero ones, then pick up a cheap Guitar Hero 5 bundle.

How are you guys determing home keys when playing on Pro Keys expert? Are you judging it on prior playing of the chart or what?

No, the key you put your fingers on to hit the keys, similar to how jkl; is the home keys on a computer keyboard.

So if we follow that IGN DLC list, next week should be Rush right? What songs do people want to see? I think they HAVE to get Spirit of Radio now, no clue how that has escaped 3 years of Rock Band. Hopefully they add Roll the Bones also, and maybe Here Again. But what if they throw in a big bomb and release 2112.

A good tip for Jerry is if you have a guitar with solo buttons use those. Not only is that chart pretty accurate to the real thing, you'd essentially be playing it in the real position too, and you can tap it like it is in real life.

I think the thing that bugs me most about the game, besides not being able to stop a chart completely (Learn a Song is also weird also, they don't actually lay out the song in it's correct order and don't go over everything) to observe it, is the animation system. I brought it up in the old thread, but why are my band members teleporting whenever the camera cuts? One second my bassist will be far right, then the next time the camera cuts he teleported to sing with the guitarist on the other side for 2 seconds, then teleported back to his spot. They really need to improve on that, or just give us music videos to play with.

I think you forgot the "ever" part before that last word. Here's what it say's when you buy a song: quote:PLEASE NOTE: Rock Band game disc is required to play song game tracks. Many Rock Band song game tracks are available as both a multipack and as a single game track. These song game tracks are exactly the same (unless expressly noted as a special version or remix). Be aware that it is possible to download the same song game track twice so please carefully consider your purchases. For music credits, visit http://www.rockband.com. So, unless it had Rock Band or Rock Band 2 game disc stated on either songs before the release of Rock Band 3, then they could be in some trouble. Even worse, is those songs are in that included DLC list.

Leovinus posted:You should probably sue them because DLC doesn't work in the ACDC track pack and because some tracks won't play in Lego Rock Band as well, then. The difference is we know which tracks won't play in Lego Rock Band and that DLC doesn't work in ACDC. No one knew about any of these missing DLC until RB3 launched, when they were removed from marketplace, rockband.com and the game, after when you purchased it you were told that they were compatible with future games. And what about people who are just getting into Rock Band 3, took a look at the music stores prior hand (which you can, because there's individual "apps" for exploring them) and purchased these songs expecting them not to all of a sudden dissapear? If you ever have your hardware die out, won't you be mad that you can never get those songs again? Especially since you paid for them? All they have to do is give refunds and that will be fine, but if they play this Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil thing, then that's unacceptable.
