Greetings.

I've been recording music for the last couple of years, mainly instrumental pieces, which me and some friends are now rearranging and preforming live as The Sunday Republic. There's lots of different things we've worked on under the imaginary label 'you better run records'. Most of the things we are working on now come from The Further Adventures of Jake Lake - Lakeside Vagaries, an album I've been putting together over the last two years.

Have a listen if you feel so inclined...

I decided to post my attempts at ambient/drone spacy stuff for all, with a bit of commentary about each one. I'm working in Reaktor and Logic Pro. "MP numbers space man 2" had me grinning from ear to ear.

Fisherman's Wife 2: The Retentacling

It's been a while since we've uploaded to our Soundcloud; I did some half rear end recording at an acoustic show we did about a year ago and put a few tracks up, then kinda forgot about it. We're getting ready to hit the studio next week, so we're knocking out a few demos over the weekend. Should have a couple more up tonight.

I downloaded Slipgate (extended mix). Good work. I like this very much. I am about to look through the rest of this thread to see what else there is that I'll like. I have a very varied taste in music. In the meantime, have MY soundcloud.

I just spent nearly six hours making an acid bassline, threw a track around it (which I don't like anymore), and realised I had a soundcloud I'd forgotten about. The other tracks on there were recorded years ago, but they've been on a year now. On there I have made an acid track, a Boards-of-Canada inspired track, an acoustic ballady type thing, an indie guitar thing, and a chill out track. I AM ECLECTIC. AND A TERRIBLE SINGER/PRODUCER/MIXER.

You should listen, and tell me how awesome terrible I am at this.

EDIT: Well I had no idea there were so many professionals on here. gently caress you lot are good - I am hardly fit to post in the same thread as some of you people. So far I am enjoying Kai Handberg (Turbo trixie - where can I get these? These are bloody great), Twiin, Butter Studio, and NAVIDNB (your 'new' tune is quality), which is as far as I've got so far. I like this.

Just starting out at the moment so it's unlikely to blow you away as compared to some of the others in this thread. I have one of my friends tutoring me in various things with the producing software that I have so hopefully I'll be able to improve quickly. I seem to have more of a knack for making ambient stuff but it strikes me as being far too "easy". Also have some stuff i'd provisionally label as DnB for a lack of a better fit.

DnB isn't really my bag, but your electronica and ambient stuff isn't too bad.

You could probably add some really subtle stuff to your ambient tracks if you think they're too easy. I think a couple well-placed piano notes or strings swells could really take you places.

Anyway, here's my soundcloud

I've got a variety of music there, even if it's all instrumental. Ambient, orchestral, rock, chill, and some piano jams. If you guys aren't feeling one track, the next one might be more interesting.

We're a trio of old geezers from Finland. I'm the drummer and the youngest, and I turned fifty a few weeks ago, lol.

Anyway, playing together is the favourite hobby of all of us, and we made this pretty much homemade tune. What do you young whippersnappers think? Bass is a bit loud, but that's how he likes it. Also excuse the broken English.

Personally, I just loving love my Zildjians.
