Might as well toss my hat in the ring. Decided to make a SoundCloud the other day and upload some of the music I've made over the years. Some original songs, some covers (video game stuff). Mostly guitar driven, instrumental type music. Just me in my bedroom, on my computer. I've been trying to get back into making music lately, since it's a fun little hobby, but I've been pretty unproductive with it the past couple years.

In the mean time, I thought I'd share some of my older stuff with others, since it's just sitting there on my hard drive. My friends/family don't care much for the stuff I make, so I figured I'd try a different crowd, heh. :unsmith:

Loving the Metal Thing tune. I don't listen to the genre a lot, but appreciate some balls-out riffage when I hear it.

I recently had the privelege of collaborating with Peter Daltrey (of Kaleidoscope UK/Fairfield Parlour fame) on his new solo album - which is unbelievable as I'm just a basement dwelling home recorder (we met through another underground artist, Damien Youth). But we really hit it off musically and I wrote the music for about 6 tracks on the album, which Peter then added lyrics/vocals/synths to & made into proper songs. This is one of the six tracks:

Crossposting from the NMD Stoner thread:

Put up a couple more tracks on my SoundCloud. One of them is something I wrote and recorded Saturday morning, the other two are demos from last year that I never uploaded. I'm looking for a vocalist for the project now, I feel like I have enough decent material for a few albums. Still not really consistent genre-wise, but whatever. At least I'm super proud of my mixing and mastering, even for 1.5 hour start to finish tracks like Moon Wizard.

Moon Wizard (New Song): https://soundcloud.com/slothful-bong/moon-wizard-instrumental-mix
ACSOBaStML (Old): https://soundcloud.com/slothful-bong/a-cloud-surrounds-our-bodies-and-sets-the-mountain-loose
Pervert (Old): https://soundcloud.com/slothful-bong/pervert-demo

There's a wide range of (heavier) musical styles covered on my soundcloud, if these tracks don't do it for you. Stuff like "Awake by Unison" is prog metal kinda like Scale the Summit, Sun Sand and Blood is more traditional Stoner, Furnace and Cataclysm are Thou influenced Sludge, and so on. It's all instrumental except for "Uh Oh", as I'm not that confident in my vocal abilities.

E: Also want to add that I did the NIN "Me, I'm Not (Void Mix)" that was featured on the Limitless Potential fan remix album, under my electro moniker the:pawn.project. All that stuff is on last.fm under that name, if you don't want to listen to heavy stuff.
http://www.last.fm/music/the:pawn.project

And I did the GBS thread Chemical Beatdown, which ended up with 2 EPs, but I don't even know if that's online anymore

https://soundcloud.com/paul-varley-3. Mostly chiptunes made in Famitracker, mostly video game covers.

My biggest project on there is an album called 8-Bit Buttrock, that's VRC6 Famitracker covers of some 3D-era Sonic music. Unfortunately, the last couple of tracks I want to add are giving me trouble because I can't find MIDIs to work off (I know, I know) and I'm not that good at playing by ear. For instance, this work-in-progress on covering Soleanna New City - I found a bass tab, and managed to guess my way through the rhythm section and some of the easier melody parts, but I've stalled on the more complex melody bits. If anyone has any thoughts on how to finish it off, I'd appreciate them.

Mostly covers for the time being. I usually produce trance and electronica but boredom has made me venture into creating more traditional orchestral and video game stuff.

Most Recent track - Cover of the Tomb Raider theme
Most Popular track - Cover of the Ori and the Blind Forest theme
Recent Original track: - Fading Lifesigns

Hopefully there's something among that lot to enjoy.

So, I recorded a new album with a group I affiliate with off and on. That's getting mastered and finalized. During the process, I wrote a lot of side stuff that just has no place tonally or really belonging anywhere near it. They're all really rough, which I know isn't a great sell. They're sketches and rough drafts, mostly the vocals are recorded by phone. lol. Despite that, I don't think you would have known if I hadn't told you. It's all my production, lyrics, and vocals. I might pull from some of it for future projects, but meh. I just didn't feel like deleting these, so here they are.

This is a track from said EP: https://soundcloud.com/neonshudder/neon-shudder-the-hunger-preview-version

(it's about the android murdering and consuming one of her colleagues! there's no lyrics but there will be a written story/art to go along with each song. so it's like a soundtrack in a way)

I'm a powerful musician. Trying to make cool sounding things in the vein of ambient, electronic, raga, experimental, mashup, witchhouse, you name it. Inspirations are people like Dan Deacon, Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Casey James Basichis, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Casino vs Japan, I, Cactus. I'm completely untrained and bad, but sometimes I get lucky and the results are vaguely listenable.

Just yesterday I got a remix ( https://soundcloud.com/y-h-v-h/shape-down-gadgetcontest) and an original track (https://soundcloud.com/y-h-v-h/white-warlock-coronation) featured on the KORG GadgetCloud which is like a portal for uploading music to soundcloud through their IOS apps. That made me feel pretty good! At this point 90% of my music is made on my iPad mini, but I've purchased a MIDI keyboard in hopes of pressuring myself to expand.

For anyone else that uses KORG Gadget, I really recommend getting at least one entry into their remix contest before the end of the month. Its great as a learning tool, not very difficult, you'll get a good amount of exposure within the Gadget "community" and you could win some sick KORG instruments in addition to free "PRO" upgrades on your soundcloud account.

Ok, thanks bye.
