Has anybody said yet that #4 is from the video mode in Fish Tales? I would also love to see that in TPA. It's probably my favorite Mark Ritchie table. Sorry, Taxi fans.

Finally hit the billion point shot in Bride of Pinbot. I know it's not the most difficult thing ever to do, but for some reason it's one of the most satisfying gaming moments of my life. Something about pinball, and Bride of Pinbot especially for me, makes it more gratifying than regular video games. I love the way everything goes silent for the final transformation in Bride of Pinbot, and then the heartbeat picks up... Also, I know it puts me in the minority here, but I think Black Hole is pretty cool. I love that it's a pretty sparse table, which was probably more of the norm for the era than the overcrowded tables of the 90's, but it fits the space theme really well. It really feels like you're flinging this ball out into space.

I'm kicking myself for waiting on picking up PA for so long. I bought it last night after being worried I wouldn't like the camera (I don't like non-fixed) or its physics. What pushed me over the edge was that I've never had the chance to play any of the launch tables before. I started with TotAN and fell in love with it instantly. I'll be stuck on this one for a while.

Black Hole is by far my favorite of the four PS3 PA tables - what don't people like about it? After playing on it for a while, I find all the other tables overly-busy and chatty.

I had a bit of an impromptu gaming sesh with friends at the weekend and got them introduced to pinball arcade. 3 of the 4 of them loved every table but Black Hole which they said was too sparse and too unforgiving with drains (none of them used nudge). The guy who loved black hole hated playing Trials Evo becuase it only works on 2 axis. Go figure.

I love the relative simplicity of The Black Hole in Pinball Arcade, it's my favorite table on there. I'm pretty bad at it myself though, I've only gotten multiball going once and I drain the ball 90% of the time I play on the lower level.

My strategy on Black Hole is to try to complete both sets of drop targets and lose my ball two times before this happens, then lose the third ball to a premature trip to the black hole itself. Top score so far is around 300k. It's actually a pretty fun table but gee whiz do I suck at it.

I got so close to breaking one million last night, had two or three extra balls. It was heartbreaking. It's going to take me for loving ever because I hate using the lower table because I usually drain after getting a whopping 1000 points.

A better strategy is to complete both sets of drop targets on the top to get both accelerators lit and then haphazardly drain the ball while still on the top. I do this quite frequently.

Alcoholism posted:Black Hole is by far my favorite of the four PS3 PA tables - what don't people like about it? After playing on it for a while, I find all the other tables overly-busy and chatty. Oh I like it well enough, it's getting that wizard goal of 500k points on the lower level that's a bitch. Here's my strategy. First spell out either black or hole, but not both. That doubles the point value on the lower level. Then try to knock out 3 of 4 of the yellow targets on the right hand side above the flippers. These increase the point value for the left hand dropdown targets on the lower level. The reason you don't want to complete these is that you won't loose your progress if you drain a ball. Once you've got both of those out of the way, get a ball on the lower level and get a x5 multiplier. Hopefully by this time your bonus is at 40k or more. From there get the ball out of the lower level (use the capture ramp) and back to the upper level. Past this is the point of no return. You'll loose all progress if you loose the ball. Spell out the remaining work (black or hole) to triple the values of all the lower level targets. This will also light the extra ball targets on the right hand side of the lower level. Hit the remaining yellow target (this also lights a roundabout way of getting an extra ball), and then get your ball back on the lower level. Now all the targets down there should be worth a ton of points and you can score an extra ball by completing the right hand bank. Once you hit 100k on the bonus counter you can safely drain the ball, and your 5x multiplier will get you the goal.

I hope to start the rebuild/cleaning of my Pin*Bot machine this coming week. I am waiting on my order of all new play field plastics to come in from Bay Area Amusements. I will be taking a lot of pictures and hope to make a thread on the process. Not so sure about that part yet though.

I'm going to definitely agree with the general sentiment that zen pinball sucks, but I make an exception for a few of the marvel tables. Moon Knight, Thor, and Spider Man are all pretty good, and I'm warming up to Wolverine. However, Pinball Arcade owns the whole pinballfx scene's rear end right off. On a side note: I'm heading into the aarcade right now for some pinball action. First a round of shifting gears and driving past donut heaven, and then I'm taking it to warp speed 9.9 to join the q continuum (not really, will maybe hit warp speed four because it's a skill shot freebie). Maybe I'll buy my way into the officer's club again hah.

How do I post to the leaderboards on Android? I logged into Facebook and clicking Leaderboards doesn't do anything. Also, was MM the table with the flipper gap issue? I keep losing balls on it too much.

Zeether posted:How do I post to the leaderboards on Android? I logged into Facebook and clicking Leaderboards doesn't do anything. I don't know of any gap issue with MM, but I most often lose balls from a weak shot up the left ramp that rolls back right down the middle, or when a really really fast shot comes down from the right ramp and just drains off the right flipper quicker than what I expect.
