Ryuga Death posted:A quick question about the monster bash table. The phantom flip thing where the flipper hits the ball for you automatically seems terrible and more likely to hit the ball into nothing or into a drain, am I doing something wrong? The hilarity with Phantom Flip (and what will be the same hilarity with Thing Flips, although hopefully not as terrible, considering Thing Flips is given a much more stable situation) is that the data it uses to eventually figure out how to flip is stored in the NVRAM. The NVRAM Farsight has yet to store properly AFAIK. As such, Phantom Flip will always suck major balls and turns from something that is at least not terribly detrimental to something that can and will gently caress your game up with a terrible shot unless you've played for ages without quitting. At least the left ramp miss goes dead on Frankenstein's Monster fairly safely most of the time and the right ramp miss goes in the scoop a lot, so if you can sort of deal with its terrible choices, you can at least make some headway on Lyman's Lament and Frankenstein Multiball, which is nice. BiggerJ posted:Okay, people, time to guess. How much do you think the Addams Family Kickstarter will be asking for? Well, TZ was 55K, STTNG was 60K and T2 was 66K, so taking that into account and guesstimating a bit based on previous comments that TAF was too expensive (can't remember the exact wording), I'd say that 100K is a good guess. Same Great Paste posted:I'm enjoying High Roller Casino so far. Hadn't played it before, but it reminds me of Monopoly. It's pretty good, but that Craps target is really making GBS threads on my games so far, which is fitting.

I have purchased physical copies of everything they have done, and then repurchased them digitally when Pinball Arcade was released on PS3. Hell, I even re-bought the Williams collection disc on the PS3 because it added a few extra tables over the Wii version. I think the Season Pass problem is not on Farsight's end, but on Sony's. Something about selling content that isn't available yet, or something? I know that the Season 3 Pass is still there on the Steam version of the game, so it must be related to the platform. Of course, that's still no excuse for all the other wank they pulled, like having TZ be literally unplayable once you hit LITZ for ages until the recent update.

Since they decided to get creative with the backbox, you can't properly strap the sonofabitch to one of those trolleys you need with stairs as steep and hallways as narrow as we have. So you've got to write down where every single plug goes for every part of the units in the backboard (so that's MPU, sound, a few other miscellaneous CPU components, and the entirety of the SS display), completely take the thing apart, then carry the poo poo down and put it all back together. The resulting Spider Mania mode is pretty drat fun though. Man, I felt like a loving badass when I broke 500K on Genie - took me about half an hour and more than fifty games to get it right (most games never went beyond ball 1, obviously). Then I saw the 3 million goal and my jaw just hit the floor. I'm not even touching that one for a long time. Instead, I went and tried for the Ultimate Challenge in Champion Pub - got knocked out on the last fighter when he had half his life remaining. Annoyed the hell out of me. Didn't even get close to getting a good score on that game, just 290 million. Compared to my 594 million I got on another game, that's peanuts. Then again, that score is also the only top 100 leaderboard score I have, so maybe it's a lot better than I think.

If you have a martian bomb, start Martian Attack and shoot three of the four martians, then shoot the risky shots like the shield/ship. If you drain, just hit the launch button to kill the last martian and start multiball. Personally, I like to stack Martian and regular multiball, so I usually don't need bombs. This seems like a pretty interesting trick. Here's one for Who Dunnit some people might not have figured out yet - make drat sure you get the Mystery Slots when your ball goes down the outlane, since there's a chance you'll either get multiball or you get two of the same but one different one and get the last chance spin, which relaunches a ball. Also, the interrogated person either talks about the killer or they are the killer (remember, Tex = Bruno and Butler = Walter), but you probably knew that already. Still, that one eluded me for a long time. I've been plugging away at Champion Pub now to finally win the Ultimate Challenge. Still no luck so far (god drat those outlanes are a bitch and a half), but I did get something even more "difficult" - a royal flush on Poker Night right off the bat. It spotted the last jewel I needed for the Ultimate Challenge. Then I drained my last ball on a lovely heavy bag shot. Then I shoved my head into a nearby pillow for about a minute and quit playing.

Judging from the story, there's a lot of motives going on: Walter has a motive against Tony (cheated Walter out of his half of the casino), but not against Victoria (his daughter), Trixie (no real reason) and Tex (doesn't know that Tex survived and now is Bruno). Tex has a motive against Tony and Victoria (the two he suspects of having tried to kill him, has vendetta against Victoria in particular), but not against Trixie (his daughter) and not really against Walter (it was never stated that Tex found out that Walter was behind the attempted murder). Trixie has a motive against Tony (learned that he's intentionally keeping her locked to her job at his casino) and Victoria (her stepmother, abandoned her when she was young and both her parents were dead), but not against Tex or Walter (no real reason). Victoria has a motive against Tony (long story, basically she's after the casino), but not against the others (no real reason). Tony has no motive against anybody (thinks everything is fine). Now, of course, if we add the possibility that people find out about the previous identities of Walter and Tex and their plans, then the whole thing basically blows up into a total web of hatred that makes every possibility viable except a few (Tex killing Trixie and Victoria killing Walter or vice versa). I'm also not sure if the whole thing is connected with the NVRAM and the TPA version ends up being a bit predictable because of that. Lone Goat posted:I think Sopranos does. There is NO loving way Farsight is getting to do the Pinball Circus, unless it's with the reconstruction that has been planned. I've been active for some time in the VP scene, and we haven't even managed to get the loving ROM from either of the owners. The one in the PHOF will not be touched, that much is certain, and I don't even know where the privately owned one is. Last I knew, it was in Somewhere, Germany, and the owner would only allow the ROM to be ripped if somebody in particular asked for it (and whoever that was didn't ask) but that could have changed. Either way, nobody's gotten the ROM so far, and without that, we're not even getting close to seeing Pinball Circus in TPA. And it's not like the reconstruction isn't one of those very impressive sounding, but logistically very difficult projects undertaken by a pretty much unknown company, either.

I say "bug" because I believe it's intentional because it reliably stops working after you lock a third ball for multiball. Nah, it's not just habit - a lit lane will mess up the whole thing. However, if you lock ball three for multiball, you should normally just be able to do the same thing over again on the next ball. It's a code thing where the unlit inlane doesn't count as a triggered switch, so the game thinks something went wrong when the ball just hits the trough after coming out of the super skill shot (basically, it figures the player never had a shot at the ball) and it just feeds you another ball until you trigger a switch.
