This guy lives out in the forest on a mountain, and he is building a giant robot and video blogging the process. He is the ultimate badass. Here is his first video, where he builds his own sawmill and starts building his own workshop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86Krv3gE-c4 This is his latest video (part 53), posted a day ago, where he is trying to work out how to steer the nearly complete robot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6QEI1RNzCw And here's a playlist of all his giant robot videos, which I plan to spend all day watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6ON...3A11662BDE6EB83 Update: Jamie posts in the thread! Right after I post about an embarrassing dream I had! Steve Holt! fucked around with this message at Jan 26, 2011 around 11:29 |

53 videos. Holy poo poo. I'm all for a GIANT CRAB TANK OF DEATH, but I can only see this ending badly. I can see the headlines on the day he rides it into town: "Man robs bank with giant robot, shot on sight"

That guy is awesome, he seems like he actually knows what he´s talking about and has that quirky habit of leaving stuff he wants to cut in his videos (intentionally?). But why is someone who is fascinated with robots living in a forrest without electricity besides solar?

This type of thing motivates me so much to go just do everything I've been apprehensive about doing. It's awesome. Jamie is awesome.

His mannerisms in that last video make him sound exactly like a real-life mad scientist. I adore this guy. "'And you live in a forest on a mountain?' YES."

This guy is my new idol I can't believe it, this is pretty much my dream, just building giant robots and whatnot. I love building but I can never find the resources/money for what I need. This guy has inspired me though (I also love his style of humor, it's just appealing to me). Guess I know what I'm wasting the next 10 hours doing!

I love how he refers to everything as a thing-a-majig and sticky-outy-thing and also knows what he's doing.

There's something so amazing about a giant spider robot stomping around in the mountains of Vermont that can't be put into words.

Oh my GOD, someone buy this man an account and point him to this thread, pronto. His energy and positive outlook are both amazing. If this guy was President the country would be more energized, fiercely brave & proud of what we could do again, and the bullshit would be cut through and things would get done. I love this video, this is pretty much how I feel about things, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nOzbCiRHhM Also the way he scrounges around the house/shop for things to reuse/repurpose is exactly what I do, heh. This guy needs to do motivational speaking at middle schools to fire up the kids, he could save the loving world. Great find, OP! This guy is living the minecraft dream. He has to build things to build things so he can build things. What's he building? A bigass tower as of video 2. I hope he collected his lumber by punching trees.

This guy is like Survivorman, only instead of merely surviving nature, he survives, spends his time building poo poo, has time to chop his own firewood, then goes on to build a giant robot spider to terrorize the woodland creatures.
