How are the e-ink type color displays coming along? Mirasol seems interesting, they're trying to make it fast enough for video. But is this stuff months or years away?

I find that the 3GB storage I have on my kindle isn't really enough. I have plenty of pdfs on there and I've ran out of room for more. Also some people use audiobooks or read comics which really do need the extra space.

If your mom is doing nothing but reading why not get a e-ink kindle? Its even adequate for text based websites.

My Kindle 3 finally broke out of warranty. Its $65 to replace, theres no upgrade program. Should I get another keyboard or go for one of the newer models? I'm looking at the Touch and Nook, is that light worth the $40 more?

Theres a video floating around on youtube where an e-ink employee mentions smartphones with e-ink displays built into the back of the device. Really interesting, I hope it happens and gets widespread.
