Won't surprise me if all the patch does is fix a typo in the description of a standard car and slightly adjust the colour of a paint item

The GT5 server is down for maintenance, sign out of PSN right now if you are going to continue to play unless you want really long load times.

I think you have to be connected to the GT servers to get the birthday voucher? E:  B-5 still glitched. If they didn't fix this, wouldn't shock me if b-day exploit still worked when server goes back up.

So, if you'd like the settings for Top Gear intermediate to make the Elise handle like something connected to the road by rubber, here they are: Traction Control: 1 Skid Recovery Force: On Active Steering: Mild ABS: 1 I normally race basically everything with ABS on 1, no other assists, but the comfort hard tires are just bloody impossible.

Whats this b-5 glitch everyone keeps talking about??? I golded it once I figured out to stay way away from the racing line (god turning that off helps getting golds much, much easier). Granted it did take me about 30-40 attempts. Instead of taking it wide and cutting in, brake in a straight line to the inside of the corner and hug the turn, accelerate on apex, should clear it by a good few hundreths of a second. Just make sure to stay off the ripple strips. On a Dual Shock as well, no wheel.

I'm not ashamed to say I used it after 4 hours of trying to do B-5 legit and missing by .008...gently caress that noise.

There is nothing better than swinging by the used car dealer and finding the perfect car for a series you're ready to do. I was popping in after every race to try and find a good 60's European car on the cheap for that Beginner level A-spec series, and after 6-7 tries I found a '61 Jaguar E-Type with 650,000 miles on it. I changed the oil, did an engine rebuild, and destroyed the competition

So, now that the game is out, how does this game compare to Forza 3? I'm not really a super big car buff, but I played some Forza 2 and enjoyed it, so I was either thinking about GT5 now or picking up used Forza 3 cheap. What kinds of things does GT5 have that Forza 3 doesn't and vice versa?

Just a big playground with no time limits or rules to do whatever you want. Also how do you force custom music to shuffle? I've selected all the music on my HD but it's playing through in alphabetical order. I set shuffle to on, but it was reset back to off when I checked, maybe it's changed again.

I'd say grab Forza 3, you can find it for really, really cheap. It's a solid game, I've not actually played it much but the customisation alone is probably worth buying it for. On the other hand my friends say that driving in Forza 3 just doesn't feel as good as it does in GT5. That could be half down to the fact their wheels won't work with the xbox360 though.

My biggest frustration right now is with the 'classic' races on beginner level A-spec. I haven't had a single car older than the early 80's show up (except for some old Jaguar that cost about 5x more credits than I had) since I've started. Those are the only races I have cleared with all golds in the newbie level.

The whole used car thing where sometimes cars are there and sometimes they're not is just dumb. Yes, it simulates an actual market of used cars, but in practice all it does is piss you off when you can't find what you're looking for or that used car you can finally afford disappears just as you're getting ready to buy it.

Dear Kaz, Please add in a feature where our "shared with friends" photos can be accessed via a PSN or dedicated GT.com/profiles/username page. The only way I know of to get pics onto the computer is via exporting to XMB and then USB or Picasa but that is kind of a pain.
