Found this through a friend's Facebook. It's on a girl I went to high school and was done, along with at least two other, less crappy tattoos, by a third person from my high school. I can only assume it was done for free and in someone's house.

Perhaps the most tragic aspect of that tattoo is that certain parts actually make for a kind of interesting (if likely completely unintentional) effect. Mostly I like the almost airy quality of the inking, but as previously mentioned, that was probably just spotty rear end work. The tattoo design is horribly cliche and isn't even saved by good artistry.

There is nothing good about that tattoo, whatsoever. The lines are lovely, and half will be gone when it heals. The attempt at shading is going to heal up spotted and lovely, and the coloring is something I would expect to see in a kid's coloring book.

 An old childhood friend turned SxE. He now has full sleeves with similar messages, including crossed bloody meat cleavers bearing the message "I've Got The Straight Edge" covering his chest. I'm curious, though, if this guy had gone the right route (ie seek out an apprenticeship) would you say he had some potential? I mean, it's not a stellar tattoo, but it seems decent for someone who has only been tattooing for a week. Or are my expectations on what a beginning apprentice could do just really skewed? I have no experience with the industry so I'm curious. Still, bad on him for being a kitchen wizard.
