I grabbed an SSD drive and am planning to get back into this. Is FSX still the go-to simulator for everything? How's XPlane coming along? I'm not really up-to-date on most developments, is REX still the go-to replacement? Also has anyone experience with getting some useful AA with the SMAA or FXAA injector? I remember any form of traditional AA cutting the performance basically in half back in the day, no matter what video card was used. Time to dust off the ol' x52 pro and hope it's still working.

Vivick posted:Can you elaborate on this please? I'm thinking about buying a HOTAS Setup and the X52Pro is one of the sticks I'm considering, most reviews I found seemed to be positive. I have the X52 pro and the manufacturing is piss poor. on the first one I got the LEDs didn't work. (Not that important for me but y'know, I paid for this) I sent it back and the next one I got had them working, until about a week later where a few would randomly fail, I said screw it and learned to live with it. Then, I didn't use it for a while and after I started playing with it again, the potentiometers where screwy, making left/right movements like I wanted them a pure game of chance. I took it apart and treated them to some contact spray (which was pretty complicated and is a great way to break it forever) and it helped, although I don't think it controls great. The throttle is nice though, although the wheels on it are jittery and can't be set to neutral position. It's also horrifyingly easy to disconnect the joystick from the throttle, as the connectors are neither sturdy nor do they fit 100% All in all, a good looking setup, but mine sucks. Google revealed the poor build quality is actually quite a common problem. Get a cheap joystick, it might be crap and break easy but at least you didn't drop a lot of money on it.
