Some things may not have updated to what you need to do in Beta 3, so here's the process now:

You forgot to start the oxygen flow! High-altitude blackouts are modeled.

Hop into FSX and pick an aircraft where you can get a good look at any of the controlled surfaces. I'd suggest the ailerons. Now zoom in so one of the ailerons fills your screen. Move your stick to the right very very slowly so in your mind you're moving 1% at a time. Notice how the aileron moves really slowly? Now reverse the direction just as slowly, 1% at a time. Notice how the aileron just jumped and skipped about 5-10 degrees? That's the reversal bug. You can't get that smooth change in direction without it skipping. This really comes into play when trying to strafe ground targets in IL-2 since your "small adjustments" just keep overshooting the target, resulting in too high and too low.

I'm having almost this exact problem with the twist rudder on my regular X-52 stick, except instead of jumping a few degrees, it jumps all the way to the right. It makes high speed turns in DCS:A-10 rather difficult. Other than that, both sticks work great. I miss the paddle rudder on the X-36 though.

Yay the final version of DCS:A-10 is released!!!

Boo my rudder on my X-52 stopped working at the same time!!!

I guess this is the excuse I was looking for to purchase some rudder pedals.

The difference between playing a flight sim with and without a *head tracking solution* is the same as playing it with and without a joystick.

*edit* There are other things besides TrackIR but that's what I have experience with and it works great for me.

The difference between playing with Trackir and without is like the difference between playing with a joystick or just mouse+keyboard.

I've finally figured out the HUD SOI/SPI stuff and can now launch mavericks without sitting at 12K altitude for several minutes.

Yeah that was hilarious but several times during the quicklook I kept wanting to click it for them, but that just pauses youtube.

Since these modules are supposed to all play together eventually, I can't wait to terrorize some WW2 armor with a modern A-10C armament!

Accelerate slower.

Goddamn if I didn't learn that the hard way with IL-2.
