Hm, this is A slightly more obscure buying/hauling quest chain that pretty much is only useful for a Freetrader with lots of money and spare time, and not enough experience. Gives some rep boosts for the nations if you're concerned about that, some fancy sails, a one-time-use tax discount in a foreign port, and... a re-usable speed boost-booster for the open sea. Also enough experience to go from 48 to 50

Are the benefits for paying the 15 dollar fee worth it? I won't pay it yet until I am sure my time commitment is worth the payment, but I am not familiar enough with the game mechanics to be able to figure it out from their little chart. EDIT: In as Jose F Estalinador, could use invite. JosefStalinator fucked around with this message at Dec 7, 2010 around 06:40 |

Got a invite pop-up when I logged on so it should work even for those off line. Don't think I have much worth moving to Havana yet but I suppose it can't hurt to set up shop there (once the PVP area is gone).

In as Tomas Viejo (Privateer) I'm still getting the hang of the game. I agree that the on-land portions seem a bit lacking but the few naval battles I've been in have been pretty cool.

The sheer amount of poo poo they need can't be filled unless you produce it or buy it. It's mostly for a fairly laid-back way to get some levels while alt-tabbed. However some of them can be a bit profitable for the ones that require raw materials. Edit: This also seems to be outdated. The red tape rewards are now cash/experience/reputation and the sails/item rewards should come from the trader's office in the home ports. We got most of what we need to start producing what we need for fittings for all goons. Not boats yet. The issue is getting them from hand to hand as there are no society buildings. We have a few options for this. Post what you want here, have someone who can make it say what they need, have people offer it here, and then work it out in game. Do this same thing, but on our own personal forums which we don't have right now. Same thing but in IRC. I got a feeling irc is probably the best way but getting items from hand to hand is still an issue. I've been holding on to what people give me in havana for the greater goon but even then this is gonna be problematic.

So we're Spanish faction on Antigua server... I'll play whichever class we're needing most*, but I don't know the info to connect to Camping the Stairs. * I'm thinking Naval Officer (best solo class?) OR Free Trader; I don't have a set time when I'll be on, so there's the risk of a Free Trader having a hard time leveling (soloing), but I'd like to be able to contribute to the guild out of combat. Oh good the port battle for Cayo de Marquis has ended now I can ship stuff to Havana to build without sailing through a PvP zo- *Havana unrest goes from 0 to 3000 to 6000 to 3000 in a matter of 6 hours, pirate players actively blockading the town to drive up unrest and sink ships*

I ganked a level 8 buccaneer between cuba and hati. He was in a fallback ship, so I got no marks of victory from him. I did manage to get 24 granite, gravel, common logs, and iron ingots from his hold. Poor little guy was going to go build something. Anyways I now have a new forge. EDIT: ![]() The bahamas. Judio Banco is now our guild bank / mule account until they make society warehouses. Peor, Enrique, and Queso have access to him as of now. He will have a warehouse in only two locations due to being a free account with only two ships to teleport between, and those are Sisal and Havana. If you have spare poo poo, dump it there, if you want spare poo poo, get it from there. The warehouses are not linked and we will level him up a bit so we can move stuff as needed.

For those who are trepeditious about playing, this game is actually reasonably fun and the goon guild is working out pretty well so far. Not only that, but just because we're part of the spanish faction doesn't mean you need to make some sort of filthy spaniard character. For example:![]() Mickey O'Hoolihan, entrepreneur, rum-runner, possibly racist caricature and free-trader for the Spanish crown. Dolash fucked around with this message at Dec 8, 2010 around 18:21 |
