So, NVIDIA has rolled out Maxwell-based 800M GPU line. I am going to buy myself a laptop this autumn - what are the chances that 900M line fires off around that time?

It's a huge mess, though. The 870M and 880M are based on the older Kepler hardware. The 850M and 860M are based on Maxwell, but only some of the 860Ms, because nVidia has the awful habit of giving several different laptop GPUs the same name.

So all high end stuff is better but not still there? :psyduck:

I wonder if its possible that Facebook wants to adapt the Oculus into some kind of Google Glass competitor thing. I know precisely jack and poo poo about engineering though so I have no idea if Oculus and Glass are even comparable.

They are different in terms of Rift being VR (virtual reality) device and Glass being AR (augmented reality) device, but that does not rule out the possibility of that happening too. One would think, though, that it will take literally different product, because Oculus Rift with cut-out "front window" would look awkward to say the least. :v:

While I cannot comment on various mouse pads from exotic building materials and while they may actually be good and what not, I can recommend you QcK+ or QcK Heavy. Any of them will work if you do not need to have an airfield set up for your mouse. Heavy is preferable over QcK+ if your desk is significanty worn out/damaged/destroyed/devastated/dismembered/disintegrated. If it is not then QcK+ will be good enough.

I would strongly advice you to consult with someone medical in regards of these issues so you know for sure whether if a doctor visit is necessary or not. For me it seems that yes, but I neither am medical dude nor I would visit doctor myself in this case case. The latter though is that here in Latvia we have separate specialists for such issues who are more accessible than doctors and who then appoints us to the doctors on their own.

Clean looks, and I think it is even washable. Never had to wash it, though, because all the spills/stuff were dealt with a piece of moist cloth.

Isn't that sort of counter productive? If your game streams on the fly and you don't notice chugging, then it's fine. I've noticed SSDs do wonders for games with a lot of loading screens.
Some games have problem that you, for example, enter a cave, with 20-30 second loading time, then run (assume human) 50 meters forward to some wall on the cave, and what you'll when you close on that wall is just a gibberish looking like a bad parody of the actual theory. Then the proper texture loads. While there isn't any chugging in that process, "immersion" can be improved by being able to load on-fly textures faster. It certainly isn't overly productive if we put it dry, but there are cases when that isn't completely useless.

Doesn't that mean that you would have to run the game at 144 FPS(locked) and 1440p to get the full benefit of the monitor? How is that possible? No modern video card would be able to do that, so what's the point?
I believe that monitor is with nvidia gsync so it does some refresh rate magic to keep things in check.

Yes, but then motion blur would be applied to smoothen the picture out, and, depending on the game, command input may be less responsive, as in less smooth compared to higher frames.
