I just had my keyboard short out after years of use and I figured I'd ask because it and my headset have lasted me so long and worked so well for how cheap they were. Very much so, their customer service is legendarily excellent as well. Can't go wrong with Logitech.

The top of the Logitech box was cut with a very sharp knife so it was very easy to remove the mouse from its box so I wonder if newegg or a previous customer did that. The mouse looks completely unused and I looked at it closely so did newegg send me a used mouse that was sent back? It's probably from when they opened the box when they received their shipment of mice from the manufacturer. If it works fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

That was a debut trailer. Of course they're gonna play up the action. For comparison, this is one of Max Payne 2's official trailers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Z6D7yfsA4 Boy that sure was all about the story and characters!

Logitech somewhat recently came out with the G400, meant to be a replacement for their now-discontinued MX518, widely touted as the best mouse ever. The G500 is nice, but if you don't need the extra features it has over the G400, save yourself a couple bucks and go for the G400.

ME2: The most interesting kills you get to do are Renegade interrupts.

Dead Space 1's mouse aiming in general is just a little floaty, but you learn to compensate/adjust for it rather quickly. The sequel's aiming is much tighter and more responsive.

First time I fired up Dark Souls (having never played Demon's Souls, mind you), I got invaded almost immediately after leaving the starting area. This guy was clearly better-equipped than I was, but his situational awareness was terrible, and I managed to trick/push him off of a bridge.

I've gone through like four MX518's from pretty much the moment they came out until two months ago when my latest one crapped out on me, and Logitech (as they always do because they're awesome) replaced it with a G400. The G400 is literally just a newer MX518, I highly recommend it. You'll feel right at home.

Tuxedo Catfish posted:The only way this would be useful to me would be if it had a "hit the target framerate by any means necessary" stress test that actually worked. Everyone has different standards of what constitutes acceptable performance anyways. When Morrowind first came out, I played that game for like two hundred hours and I was lucky to get 20FPS under the best of circumstances. For a long time, it made me really tolerant of unstable and choppy framerates. Of course now that I'm not a teenager with no income and am gainfully employed, I can afford a computer that is substantially more powerful than a toaster. If my FPS so much as hitches once, I'm ready to kill someone. Namnesor fucked around with this message at 04:34 on Apr 30, 2012 |

DrNutt posted:Having heard this advice a lot on SA when it comes to PC gaming, is this really a thing people do? Given that people are always talking about how much prettier a good PC port is than a console game, I wouldn't think that voluntarily making the game look lovely in motion would be bog-standard, but there it is. I just can't play games with v-sync turned off because it makes them look like rear end. I believe most people use triple buffering alongside v-sync, as it basically eliminates the downsides of using v-sync on its own.

I had that exact same message late last year; even when surfin' around on the desktop, it'd go black for a second, Aero would crash and restart, and Windows would pop up and tell me "nvidia driver kernel crashed and restarted." Here's what it could be in terms of severity/cost to fix:
Even despite all of this, it might not be the problem. There's two threads worth reading on the Geforce forums that talk about this issue: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/535346/geforce-drivers/constant-timeout-detection-and-recovery-fix-warning/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/389688/geforce-drivers/nvidia-statement-on-tdr-errors-display-driver-nvlddmkm-stopped-/ Good luck, I hope this helps.

There are A LOT of collectibles though, goddamn. I like the way that the cities feel pretty organic, at least in terms of topography anyway. (There obviously wouldn't be nearly that many ladders or random boards across rooftops.) Just curious, have you played any other Assassin's Creed games? If not, the best games in the series are ahead of you, have fun, man.

Does anyone know if the quality has changed at all? I just realized I've had my Saitek Eclipse keyboard for a good few years now, and some of the labels are starting to wear off, so it's about time to replace it. The thing is built really solid and has stood up well to heavy use, so I think I'll get another one, assuming they're still good. Since the merger, I've owned an Eclipse II and a Cyborg v.5 and both were of excellent build quality. The only reason I don't use them anymore was because my friend gave me his Logitech G710+

Maybe it's dirty and I could try and open it up and clean it but I know I'd break it. Considering how willing they are to send replacements for free, I wonder if it's possible to get them to replace an 8 year old mouse that is only defective due to regular wear and tear. I'm guessing most probably not. At that age they definitely won't replace it, but contact their customer service and they'll likely offer you 50% off a new mouse.

The pad is nice to have for emulating a mouse in (the decidedly rare) case you might need to use the mouse to adjust an emulator setting and are too lazy to use your actual mouse.
