It's been so long since I've played an pre-AC4 game.

I want to get one for my psp. Should I go with Silent Line or Last Raven?

I have the first one, AC3 I think with the delusions that I would beat each one in turn and carry over my guy. That was started about a year ago though haha. It's a good game if you like the armor core series but I just kept wishing for a second input stick for view control. It's not unplayable at all and I had a very good time with it just never finished. I can't offer advise on the last 2 but they may find their way into my download list eventually.

Ace Combat Joint Assault is pretty fun and the only DL option. The AI isn't console level but for what they had to work with I thought it was decent.

Also it might be hard to find but I loved and had a blast with Metal Gear Acid 2. If you are a card geek and liked Metal Gear this is a must try for anyone.

I updated my PSP firmware so I can finally use the PSN again and I decided to give Portable Ops another go.

Holy poo poo this game is great once you make the controls not terrible. I still prefer Peace Walker, but my opinion of Portable Ops went from "poo poo" to "good" in about a minute of fiddling in the options menu.

I always liked Portable OPs and I am sure Peacewalker is a great game on paper but I just can't get into either because of the controls. As you said you can make them not suck completely but is there a good choice? What is your control scheme for these games? With out a dedicated viewing control I couldn't find an option I could live with for any extended period.

Front Mission 3?! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I love this game! Finally, Cpt. Retard will ride again!

The main character in this game was so loving stupid.

NP man I was just cruising the PSN and saw it dropped on 12/20. My buddy cracked on that game hard when it was new and I always thought it looked great if you like the tactics kind of deal. By the time I got around to wanting it, it was 125 bucks on Ebay because Square stopped printing it. I finally get to raise some mech hell and do it in a car or in bed. Good times ahead.

I'd snatch up PE 1&2 in a heartbeat. Xenogears might be good too but didn't they forget about that game? I'd hate to start a good rpg and never get to finish it. Pretty bad when I am more excited for the PS1 games than the actual psp games coming haha.

This site has reviews of most if not all the Minis currently available. N.O.V.A was just released and Zenonia was released a few months ago but those are the only IOS releases that I can think of off the top of my head.

Angry birds is on there but sony's pricing is horrible. 10 bucks for peggle. Really?
Biggest outrage was flick fishing I paid a buck for that.

The gameplay is reasonably fun but the plot is like stabbing myself in the face with sadness so I can't say I enjoyed it much.

If you're having trouble, remember to Overdive the second you're in serious damage. Enemies tend to refocus on whoever Aya is controlling so remaining in an Overdive when you're in danger is more likely to get you in bad situations then switching constantly.

Kinda like Kingdom Hearts where you use a gun instead of a sword is the closest way I can describe it.

I was afraid they messed with it too much. Thanks for the heads up I'll be avoiding this.

I actually did and was fine with doing that. My only problem was apparently in some groups that tagged me as some sort of heathen.

I found people who did that the loudest were umd fanboys. Though 250 was steep and what caused most of the ruckus. Look at it this way, the umd train on psp2 is looking pretty grim and I am about 85 percent sure dd will work. Your whole library should work, umd I doubt will.

MHFU is a great game if you like open ended action adventure games with minimal plot, it can get a little grindy though. The control scheme can also take a little getting used to.

A little grindy? That thing is a spreadsheet nerds dream. Agreed on it being good though if you like that. Millions of Japanese can't be wrong.

That article also says that it isn't a completely DD system. I wouldn't be surprised if the physical media involved was just an upgraded form of UMD to allow for backwards compatibility. Or maybe they'll go for an entirely new proprietary format, and the only backwards compatibility will be with those PSP games that were available/purchased on PSN (wouldn't that be nice for you Go users).

It's Sony so ditching UMD wouldn't surprise me at all and leaked photos of the dev kits, if they are real, have no room for or a UMD drive in them. I would imagine the dev kit would have to have one if the game needs tested for one.

I just finished Jeanne D'Arc and I gotta say I'm somewhat disappointed by it. It starts off with such potential but neither the gameplay nor the polish is there. For a tactical game, it doesn't really have much depth. Attack, attack, chain transformation. You never have to vary your approach. They recommend you equip the character's "preferred" weapon but they can't actually equip other types of weapons. There aren't many spells or equipment and the stage designs are one-dimensional. There's also very little incentive to use healing spells when items are dirt cheap and give higher returns even at end-game.

What was more painful was the writing. Jeanne spends most of her time going WHYYYYYYYY at the villains, the supporting cast never have anything interesting to say and there's an odd love story that isn't developed or resolved. The voice-acting, especially at the end of the game, is painful to listen to. A big part of it is due to the poor translation but I guess most games struggle when FF: Tactics set the benchmark.

You are seriously the first person I have ever read not like that game. It was underground hyped like crazy. I never purchased it because I read somewhere that you have turn limits every level and that made me pass big-time. If I want to run around and beat the poo poo out the thing I am healing in a gang bang that is between me and electron god. Story though is what most people praised. Weird. I may pick it up cheap someday, doubt I will like it though. Atleast nowhere near FM3 I can't put that down.
