I'd guess the psychological test 'bombshell' next week has to do with Fred.. although I'm not sure it'd be such a bombshell for him, or say, Benjy. So I'm actually leaning towards it being about Robin. (Especially since she's had an actual history of nutty behavior earlier in her life.)

Super excited about the Adam Carolla news. It makes sense on many levels (West coast guests, already has his own studio setup, likeable average guy mentality.) Howard late last year complimented him on air, as being a talent (which he rarely does with other radio guys.) Although Adam did say it was experimental/test, so whether Sirius is testing different people, or just filling the bubba space for the time being, who knows.

To be fair, he is a divorce attorney, so he's naturally going to have some seriously disgruntled clients. That's pretty funny though, but hardly shocking for the stern universe. Believee you me, feh. ziglol fucked around with this message at Feb 13, 2011 around 10:45 |

I still find it funny JD's dream job is to be a movie/film director, the one job where being a good communicator is paramount. Also, the other day I was thinking about what person outside of the staff has has benefited the most from the Stern show, and I think it'd be Lonnie from Scores/Ricks. All he has had to do is manage the relationship with the Stern show favorably for advertising, and he's paid for.

Do Sirius think people are going to keep paying for a service with no content, when Howard moves to 3 days, and is on extended vacations. No Artie, No Bubba, No Carolla. Good luck with that, I think they might be in for a shock.

I don't see anything wrong with trying wacky cultural things, just for the sake of the experience. But the moment she drunk the peyote/hallucinogenic and threw up & cried for 4 hours is insane. Howard was right, when he said she's searching for something in her life. Also Robin has nice jugs

Glumwheels posted:How do you guys listen to Adam Corolla? He's an insufferable bore and his jokes are terrible on the show. How his podcast is any better? Carolla doesn't really do 'jokes', it's alot more observational/situational humor. He literally has the ability to come up an unlimited number of hilarious premises (to rant about) for some mundane topic (out of the blue), without even a moments hesitation. He's one of the few real comedian brains - and is as talented in his own way, as Artie was quick-witted, with his instant one liners. ziglol fucked around with this message at May 6, 2011 around 02:28 |

Qaz Kwaz posted:I think Hein could take Robin's place. Problem is he isn't crazy enough to encourage content and funny bits like Robin is. I'd love to see the celebrity guests reaction when they see a creepy nerdy guy staring at them from the glass booth. If you were to replace Robin, it'd have to be another woman. It adds a natural dynamic to the show, so it doesn't turn into a boys club.

Crotch Bat posted:Well Gary's a prick for exploiting Artie's issues to make money so I guess they're even. Seriously, that's a book about his childhood and oh, look, he's cramming in a chapter about the show in the paperback to try and sell more copies. Artie doesn't need Gary crying in public over their relationship & talking about his drug use. Unbelievable. Howard doesn't want to even bring Artie on air to visit, because he's not sure how he'll react..

ChaosMonkey posted:Maybe I have a severe misunderstanding of therapy, but eventually you work your poo poo out and learn how to live your life, right? I've said this before, but I really don't think his shrink is helping him anymore. (my opinion) He has poo poo gently caress all going on between each appointment, he'll just end up rehashing old poo poo (parents), or blowing up minor incidents, just so he has something to talk about with the shrink. I think that's why he's so neurotic, it's natural for your brain to try and ignore a lot of the minor/annoying everyday bad stuff. Sometimes you just have to grow up, learn to internalize poo poo, process it, learn the coping skills - then get on with living your life.

I forgot how schizophrenic the breaks are on normal radio. It's like a 10 minute barrage of 2 second bits, songs, preview cuts, slices etc etc. People in the future are going to look back and wonder what the hell that audio garbage was about.

If Artie does ever come back to the Stern show, it sounds like it'd be atleast another 12 months minimum. Sounds like he lately was, or still is in rehab. But Howard has another 4.5 years to kill on his new contract, so one day, we can hope
