To open with a complaint, when Howard goes to the 3 day week, he will be doing about 120 shows per year. This is based on my guess that he does 160 shows per year now, and over 210 when he was on terrestrial radio.

edit- That's $1.59 per show if you're paying full retail for Sirius satellite and streaming, because really who gives a poo poo about the music stations.

So I was watching Inside Edition this morning and they were doing a spotlight on the homeless guy with the perfect voice. Sometime into the bit they play a soundbite of Howard saying it has to be a hoax, to which the guy says 'Oh Howard, Howard rules as far as I'm concerned.' and then the host says 'No not really!'

It really is insane how Howard isn't respected in his medium, at least to a degree.

It's a hoax in the sense that it was first presented as if he were some random crackhead, but it turns out that he was a radio voiceover guy who became a crackhead. Although, Howard was under the impression that the whole thing was just a goofy radio stunt.

Just got one of those "why did you cancel" surveys from Sirius. The first question is do you agree or disagree with the following statement:
You agree, disagree or chose no opinion.
"Howard Stern is not on the air as much as he was when you first signed up"

I wonder how many people are really canceling because of him doing less shows.

That's what I told them when I was going to cancel. But I took the 50% off for a year and 3 months free internet. They're cutting deals all over the place. I don't know anyone who has paid full price for Sirius/XM.

The show is going to be now 2 hours. It will still be available as a podcast. It will have commercials on Sirius. He said it was just an 'experiment' to start out.

I love Adam and listen to his podcast daily, but I just dont get this move. Sirius is still trying to get people to pay for a show that the can get for free elsewhere.
Very strange business plan.

I am too lazy to go download a podcast. However, I'll probably listen on H101 because it requires less effort on my part.

Howard is getting on in years and I think his desire to put on a full on quality show is in a serious decline. I was honestly surprised that he signed on for another 5 years. I think the only reason he did re-sign was he didn't want to feel the guilt of putting his staff out of work.

He could sign documents in blood today and have them posted all around the office, large billboards all over New York, saying that this is his last contract and listing his retirement date and ending of the show in big bold letters, and his staff will still feel that he didn't give them enough notice to be able to move on with their lives.
