You can expect our glorious King Crab to always be within 5 hexes of where it was last turn. In this cases turn 1340 (unless someone else gets there first).

MJ12 posted:F-L takes up 12 crits and is worth every one of them, because it provides virtual immunity against LB-X pellets and basically neuters most critseekers. Basically, any odd-damage weapons get shafted a bunch by how F-L reduces damage, which is pretty nice since quite a few weapons deal odd (non multiple of 5) damage. I'm not calculating protection per unit of weight, but total protection. You pay for it in weight, no question, but on a 95-100 ton assault, Hardened Armor turns it into a nigh-unstoppable juggernaut. Lighten up with an XL engine and some Endo Steel, and you'll have the tonnage to put in some headcappers if you have access to them, like cERPPCs. As a bonus, not even an AC/20 can headcap you. (You'll still probably die if you eat an AC/20 to the HD, but it's not a guarantee.) cERPPCs? Nothing outdoes Hardened Armor in terms of longevity. Absolutely nothing.

There is something to be said for a jump of 8 or more combined with stealth armor and incendiary weapons to give smoke cover and partial cover.

Finally home after two weeks of misery. Nice to see the players got some awesome mechs this time. Of course, I have a feeling those clan mechs are going to be brutal in these conditions. Especially that absurdly awesome Star Colonel.

A Bane? Then we're looking at one poor Com Guard getting either sandpapered to death by a shitload of UAC-2s, or taking the closest equivalent to the Macross Missile Massacre. I'm not sure if I should be

Hate would be too kind a word, PTN. I thought our CrabGuard friends had a chance. I for one welcome our new Clan overlords. Also, every single time I'm looking at sarna.net, I still do a double take when I see an ATM launcher. Yes, I ask myself why is it carrying that. Every time.

ok, that bane is either carrying 10 ultra ac/2s (stock) 4 ultra ac/10s 120 lrm tubes over 8 lrm 15s pray that is jams or is the lrm launcher

I know all too well what weapons the DW B mounts. I was thinking more in terms of Portartsverse equivalent, given Clan Widowmaker subsumed Clan Wolf.

Okay, true, the LRM variant is mean, but with the interference from the HPG, those missiles are less scary. Unless the penalty applies to Ultras too, in which case we're in decent shape regardless. Well, I mean as decent as you can be with a 0/1 pilot in 100 ton Clan death machine, that is.

The thing about the Dire Wolf is that you really can't improve it much. It needs all that space it has due to no endo/ferro for its weapons loadouts, and it generally makes extremely good use of them (especially the C, which is pretty nuts). I'm hoping for the regular Bane as well, it's dangerous but not instant gently caress you death. In a way, this is (slightly) better news than if we were facing a Supernova.
