Another vote for the Kell Hounds. Also sign me up for some mechwarrioring. I didn't play in a league (badly) to let this opportunity pass me. Dibs on chickenwalkers.

Can't go wrong with a Shadow Hawk. It's deliciously classic and classically horrible. It can attack from all ranges (equally bad). I'd use it. Also a Shadow Hawk killed Grayson Death's father.

Or to have an overwhelming firepower advantage. Dumping 6-8 ER Large Lasers and a pair of Clan Gauss into a Cougar's head is bad juju no matter how much armor they put there. Well, you'll be delighted to hear that a gauss rifle, or ER PPC top the head will kill a mech in classic BT too. No matter if the the mech is light, or assault mech. 12 damage to the head and it's goodbye for that mech.

Also it gives light mechs the chance to take out assault mechs. The probabilty of that happening is miniscule, but it's there.

Actually, there are aliens in the BT universe. One book deals with them, in fact. However, the aliens are pretty primitive and the book is pretty bad. It is also the only book I know of that features a LAM, so I guess it is close to being non-canon. VVVV Joke's on you. I don't believe in Santa Clause.
