I was running a 3025 assault lance V assault lance random fight on Megamek, and it lasted so long the game stopped me from playing anymore, it got to turn 35 and just started back over at 1 but without giving me the option to do anything. Would've been faster if it wasn't for lucky/unlucky weapon hits. At one point it was a Titan and a Lumberer verse an Osilord and this was like turn 13 and I figure ok, this should be over soon 2 v1 and all. Decided to Alpha strike with the Titan since it had so many weapons and it had the Lumberer backing it up 1 quick round to end it, instead the Osilord gets a lucky shot to the clean Titan's head killing the pilot and from there the biggest attrition style fight I've ever done was born with the Osi slowly destroying the Lumberer's weapons.

By the Last round the Lumberer had 5 points of internal CT 4 RT and his legs and the Osi had 3 points left in his RL a few in the CT and Head. Osi had a Large Laser left and the Lumberer still had 2 Medium Lasers, was kinda pissed that I couldn't see the end of the fight Still that poo poo took like 3 hours.

So I reinstalled Mech Commander 2 because of this thread, and it bugged in the middle of the Atlas saving mission, everything was going great but one of the mechs seemed to get stuck on the geometry I guess, probably cause I had it jumping around constantly still was very frustrating.

The thing that annoys me is that they changed the names of some of the equipment, "Heavy Autocannon" for instance still it's a fun blast from the past.

Well, in the last round it fired an AC2 and 3 M lasers, so closing range might be painful.

S'all good PtN don't let them get to you, you've been doing a fine job here and in DA2.

Haterz gonna hate.

Also, let's not forget that while "yes" this is "us" LPing the game together, this is really a vehicle for PtN fluff updates, otherwise we'd just be doing standard BT and not a reimagined version of it. I mean who the hell is reading the updates for Dice rolls, poo poo he could hide all of that and just put out the results and I'd be fine so long as they came with the couple of paragraphs of fluff.

Some of us actually do care about the winning and losing aspect of it. If you take away that part of it, you basically remove our aspect of control and any element of surprise or tension from the battle. You reduce it to fan-fiction, no matter how well written it may be.

I don't think I've given PTN any poo poo about flubbed dice rolls or anything, but I do prefer them to be accurate when possible. After all, a victory is not half as sweet if you got it through a record keeping snafu, and losing because of one would end up with some people undoubtedly mad which would detract from the thread in the long run.

Dude, it's not even real Battletech, for all you know PtN just puts whatever results are most likely to make the most entertaining update out. The thrill of victory and defeat, really? It becomes even less cool when the dude who is doing this for free is getting poo poo for it, just let the man entertain us.

Yeah but getting someone to rage enough to spend on your title is a badge of honor, I wore mine for months before the size of it demanded I change it. He managed to make people pay for the privilege like 9 times. An I mean it's an internet LP, nothing at all rides on this, how he took it so seriously is baffling. I honestly thought he was playing up the crazy person angle. On the brightside him quitting means I'm one step closer to playing and that's pretty cool.

Counting coup is somewhat skewed in that the last 10 updates I think are all that one guy running away, you take those 10 updates over 10 days off, and it's 10 updates in 34 days, or 3.4 per update.
