Hey, does anyone think it would be a terrible idea to stick a pic from each ICSA's winning entry in the third reserved post and link it to their threads? We've been getting some really nice looking entries and every thread looks better with more pics.

I'm actually working on it with Fluffy Bunnies. We found some ancient ICSAs, it's hilarious. I don't know WHEN it'll be done but it will be! In the meanwhile PM me if you need anything specific and I'll see if I can help.

PretentiousFood posted:That would be my bad. it's as much my fault as anyones really I think probably what might work a little better is if the ICSA host didn't get to choose when the round started/ended - if there were set dates for each one, it'd be more predictable, and if someone was too busy they'd sort of be forced off the pot that said, I still haven't posted my thread. gonna do it tomorrow, I just now have my theme worked out. in order to keep things moving, submissions are gonna be due on Monday October 10th, and voting will close October 17th, my birthday.

Since the last NICSA ended a bit late I wouldn't expect another one for a short while. I'll get in touch with the chairman though! Speaking of,  we need chairmans for the 2012 seasons of both ICSA and NICSA. Apply by PM or just post here! First come first serve unless you want to request a specific month.

My idea would be to take some old recipes from my grandmother's collection of cookbooks from the 50's-60's (Like some of the awful food pictured in James Lileks Gallery of Regrettable Food) and see if the accomplished cooks here can make them more appealing.

I'd like to take NICSA 11 after Fluffy if there are no objections. (Actually, I'd like to see regular ICSA use my theme ingredient, but I don't think I can offer a worthwile prize for them.) By the time that rolls around I should have my rewards all sorted out. Really hoping that Fluffy's theme is not the same one I have in mind...

It did, I have my NICSA7 entry bookmarked. I can't access it, though, since I don't have archives access. If I recall correctly, the theme ingredient was alcohol. Anyone have any idea when the next NICSA is happening? It's been like 5 months since the last one.
