It was just a bit more difficult to hate Bret because he was in a wheelchair and played a babyface everywhere outside of America. So it seemed like rationalization. But yeah, when Bret actually turned he became a straight up rulebreaker. Everyone around him became immoral so his actions were justified to him since he was taking care of a threat.  But yeah, you're right now that I think about it.
