I registered, downloaded the game, and sent in an application to join the guild. I'm Arist500 on the game. Is there any chance someone could help me get together a Sundered Lands or Underdepths deck? Specifically, if anyone had any spare Succubi in Underdepths, I'd appreciate that. As far as Sundered Lands, I don't really know what's in it to know what to ask for, but I'm just gonna go for a general reptile theme, but it sounds like that's already what the entire faction is about, so it doesn't seem like I even have to ask, on that end. I assume Succubi aren't asking for a lot, but if it is obviously just let me know I'm asking for too much Also, what's the best way to learn this if you're totally new? Just the single player campaigns or something?

Pretty interesting expansion. Not as huge a buff for FF as advertised methinks. Let's see how this Nora Gem mechanic plays out, but it kinda seems bad in writing. And golly gee whilikers, thanks for making Zeven/Ruub even more annoying with these new equips. Got mostly what I wanted out of my box (Azaren + 2 Snowmen), including a Klub I won't need; he's already on the trader. If any goons want him, just make a decent offer.

Got my Vex, but I actually managed to get a spare one, too. So I'm sitting on a Vex and Bastion the Avenger (SL and IS) spare at the moment. Interested in Maxxarek somewhat, or just whatever people can come up with.

That's absolutely fine, and reasonable. I mean it's entirely just up to other people feeling like being exceptionally generous, so I'm not going to be demanding or anything. If people feel like giving me something, great! If not, oh well it seems I can try to get it with gold, too. It's all good either way. Also it makes sense that people would want to wait, get a feel for how the free to play system works, and also know which goons are sticking around and which aren't. It'd suck to give up cards to a new goon who then decides he doesn't like the game and leaves, and not have them to give to a goon who DOES want to stick around.

Am I correct in deducing that CP is basically the way your champions level up? I ask because I played 2 unranked games earlier, and in the first one I just destroyed the guy (I happen to think I have the knack for the strategy of this game). However, my second game was against a guy who had all these champs with all kinds of higher stats then mine and I really just couldn't put up a fight at all. For example, a bunch of his attack and defense stats were green, and the only explanation in the effects bar was "This champion has +1 DEF". Is this from leveling up?

I was in a similar position, hadn't played since 2008, here's what I did. First I had to create a SOE account since I didn't have one. Then I opened a ticket to unlock my old account. To show proof of who I was I needed to give them my old email address and had to either name most of my rare/exotic runes or show the date and amount of my octopi transactions. After I had spent $5 ordering old bank transactions I discovered the rune checklist and was able to identify enough runes to unlock it. Good luck to you, this process took me the better part of a week although the CS reps were as helpful as they could be given the need for account security.

I was looking through the rune manager, it kindof sucks that it seems you can only buy a miniscule amount of runes for gold. But one thing, how do you tell the rarity and other such things of a rune? Also, like, what set it's a part of, so that if you bought a booster pack, you'd know which one would have a chance at giving it to you? I mean, I know you could manually sort all the runes by "common/uncommon/sets" etc. but I mean, just by looking at a rune, is there a way to know?

If you are in the player rewards checklist page and click a rune, it brings up the little stat popup. Around the rune's art there is a slight colour border indicating the rarited. Yellow, red, blue, purple, green, and grey for common, uncommon, rare, exotic, limiited, and legendary respectively.

Check out the Rune Database on PoxPortal: http://tcgbay.com/ It wasn't 100% up-to-date last I checked, but you can search for runes and it will tell your which expansion they belong to. Alternatively, go to Rune Management, and click on Player Rewards. The dropbox that says "Heroes' Dawn" can be changed to other expansions, or "All Releases", and will display only the runes from the selected expansion. EDIT: If you're looking for Succubi or other, older Common/Uncommon runes, I would advise you to save the gold. Plenty of goons, myself included, have extras. If you still want to buy boosters, "Dawn of Elements" has the best value of expansions currently purchasable with gold. They say that the f2p section is going to continue getting bigger and better but right now I'd have to say that the game is sorta free to play but not all the way there. Probably the best thing to do is to buy like one pack of the new expansion with money - that costs like $3 ($5? I dunno). The important thing is just to have some runes, so that you can make a trade, and goons can supply you with poo poo. Goons will work hard to get you commons/uncommons and maybe even a rare here and there. Lots of rares that are staples of the game are available from the f2p store now, but you seem to get about 200 gold per ranked game you play and the rare runes cost 2,400 gold (although I hear daily skirmishes give you about 600 gold and those only take like 40 minutes a day - campaigns might be even better). So there will be some grinding, and you will not have the newest coolest poo poo. But it is possible.

I was thinking of investing in a box and was wondering if there was a 'most popular/powerful' expansion out there? Are some expansions better than others for factions? Is the new expansion any good?

As a rule, new expansions > old expansions; the newest one's got some crazy poo poo, and the Maljaran ones are still pretty darn current. I'd recommend picking up the new one just because its trade value is going to be relatively inflated for a while.

Of minor note, they are called arthropods in pox, and they actually have a racial! When you start swarming all sorts of little spiders they can attack more often and climb walls. Just before expansion dropped there was a guy playing full faction Undedepths spiders top 100, I believe with only an exo or two. And most all the awesome UD exos have recently taken a huuuuuuge hit in value, so now is a great time to get started in it. (Disclaimer: UD is my main faction)

I imagine I'll be around quite a bit in the coming days/weeks and Goonbank still has a ton of C/UC including runes from the newest expansion. There are a fair number of rares in there too. Most of them are mine but they're all extras and can be had for a fair trade without having to search and/or pay ridiculous pubbie prices.

So, unless I'm doing my math wrong, the shift to F2P-ish means you basically get a free booster (or credit for something else) every 10-15 matches. That's not too bad, really.
