I dunno if I'd go that far. But yeah. I wanted a new warm weather fragrance, and I decided to go for Citrus over Aquatic. If I went the other way, I'd almost certainly have gone with the Bleu de Chanel, with an outside shot at Nautica Voyage. People give it poo poo for being an aquatic and Chanel saying they wouldn't make one, but the simple fact is, it's a really, really good aquatic. There ain't nothing to be ashamed of about that.

Both have rose and Aventus really struck me as a semi-clone of the reformulated Ungaro III. Windsor I guess I just don't get. And I like a good unique floral accord like rose/oud, Burberry Touch or even Fleur du Male but Windsor, yikes, not for me at all. My initial impression is generic floral from the 70s. *EDIT* OK, the Windsor dry-down is turning into something good here and not nearly as feminine.

Oh, and I did my first full wearing of Havane. Yeah, it's bottle-worthy. Even though I already have the similar Back to Black I'm getting Havane because it's good and I have every other Mugler so I may as well get this one.

Ya the dry down is amazing on Windsor, also good luck with that bottle of Havane. I checked inventory in the company today and I saw 18 bottles I think. Most of which are probably either damages/returns or testers that were made from live merchandise (ours is one of them).

I am considering blind buying the TM Pure Havane. The clerk at Nordstrom assured me that if I don't like it I can return it with no problem. He even went out of his way to find bottles because that site was sold out. I don't really want to shell out $80 bucks but from what I read it seems like I might really like it. I am not sure how to proceed.

I can not stand A*Men. Ewwww. I also like smelling different. Any advice on this one? FWIW, my fav is probably The Third Man. I don't think I have a gourmand type of cologne or even a decant of one. So I am pretty blind here. I know the window to get a bottle is closing very quickly so if someone can advise, I would appreciate it.

Is Live Jazz a good warm weather cologne? I've been wearing the same two scents for over a year now (Rochas and YSL D'Homme) and want to try something new, and Live Jazz has gotten some great reviews in this thread.

Live Jazz and Guerlain Vetiver are both pretty awesome warm-weather fragrances. I live in Houston, which feels like a fiery pit in the summers, and those two are regulars in my rotation

Man, almost a $100 after tax and shipping from Nordstrom for Havane and it won't ship until April 1st.

OK, I have to get rid of my A*Men Sunessence to make up for it. Would anyone want to take it for $55 shipped? I got the last one as sales associates were boxing them back up last fall to send them back to the distributor so they're pretty hard to find except at Sephora for $70 before tax. Comes with unblemished box and package insert.

I only sprayed it 10 times for two full wearings and it's the only Mugler that has repulsed me and I bought it blind as I've loved everything else Mugler does. It's like a VERY tamed down A*Men with citrus and fruit for summer. But it's the hit of wood that kills it for me. It hits me like the wood in Tommy Bahama and I don't react well to it for some reason.

I haven't tried Pure Havane yet, but based on my experience with the other two A*Men Pure flankers, it's certainly possible that you'll like it even if you weren't very fond of the original A*Men. It probably depends on what you didn't like about A*Men, since they all share certain elements from it.

On the recommendation of (someone) in this thread, I picked up John Varvatos Artisan, and it's really good. I looked for Live Jazz but couldn't find it anywhere. It was definitely recommended to me, as well.

I love Artisan, but its scent vanishes within an hour on my skin Which reminds me: I have a bottle of Clinique Happy to buy Citrus that stays with me for four hours? Yes, please.

Also, looking over my notes (yes, I keep notes on particularly awesome fragrances I want to buy ), I need to get around to buying Rochas Lui. I remember it smelled particularly awesome, but is it a warm weather fragrance? I'm pretty terrible at recalling how a fragrance smells, off the top of my head.

Never used them but Bluefly seems to have really good reviews on Google Shopping: http://www.bluefly.com/Thierry-Mugl...r:referralID=NA

Finally tried the Byredo Oud fragrances, Immortel and Accord. Immortel is OK but comes off as a woodsier Michael Kors for men. Accord Oud is really something special though. It's a really smooth, fruity incense. Women can certainly wear it as well as confident men but wow, the price of this is pretty high for what it is. I'll keep this in my list in case the price comes down.

Does anyone know where I can get samples of the Brooks Brothers fragrances? There's a number of them and I can't find samples online anywhere. There's a Brooks Brothers in the city an hour north of me. Do they usually have testers available?

On that note, as many of you know I am a Nordstrom fragrance SA so if anyone ever needs anything please PM me or post in the thread and I can help you out. Also to chime in on the Pure Havane, there is a pretty high chance that all remaining bottles listed in the company are live merchandise turned into testers, hence the delayed ship date.

That L'Anarchiste arrived yesterday and it stands up side by side with the sample I had, plus it came in original packaging that had a card saying stuff like "Native copper will give a gentle patina to your perfume bottle, through its natural change in colour, contributing a very personal finishing touch."

Aesthetically, I kinda wish the back was smooth instead of having the vertical glass line to show how much was left. I don't know why I assumed it was like that, but whatever.

Most recent Chanel releases are still very well made, they just aren't really my style. However, this is a house with a long line of classics so I give them some slack... as long as Egoiste and Antaeus are in production I'm good.

Prada puts out the most consistently unique, well-blended and incredibly wearable fragrances for such a reasonably priced designer. I think after YSL, Mugler and Caron, they're in my top 5 somewhere. Definitely in my top 10. And to think, I HATED Amber Homme and Infusion d'Homme when I initially sniffed them in the store.

I was wearing Amber Pour Homme one day when I was working as a makeup artist. The model asked what I was wearing. She then laughed and told me that I smelled like a Prada slut.

Also, I have a bottle of Infusion d'Homme here that I like to spray a light shot after a shower.

The reaction I seem to get from women is that Prada's line smells "like an old lady". Then again these are girls that wear Viva La Juicy and Flowerbomb. I need to date different women.

Put two different frags on my hands:

Left: Red Vetyver

Reminds me of Terre d'Hermes, but the spices and orange notes are a bit mellowed down, which makes it better imho. It lasts long, can still smell it after 10+ hours. Hardly smell any vetiver though.

Right: Jo Malone Pomegranate

Starts of with red fruit, then becomes barely noticeable.. Maybe I didn't apply enough (only have a small vial to test), but I used about the same amount with the Red Vetyver and the difference in longevity is striking.

The Jo Malones seem to have below-average longevity. Bad news for someone like me who has the kind of skin that that tends not to hold on to fragrance very well.

Resniffed Bang at the dept store because I remembered it as forgettable, heh. Everything else I already have or have samples of. What a mess! If you take Terre d'Hermes and remove anything redeemable about it, leave behind the Iso E Super stank, then water it down and you'd get Bang. So many better cedar-heavy scents out there.
