If you're going to take the time to modify your flash implementation so it works on Flash For Android™ then why for god's sake wouldn't you just do something that works on iPhone/iPad as well since that is what real people in the real world use?

Yes, streaming flash takes more battery power than playing local videos. But atleast its got the capability, You dont have to use it if you hate flash.

wolffenstein posted:Does Android play H.264 files? for now. there's no hardware acceleration of theora or VP8 or any of those other idiotic formats some chipset manufacturers claim their hardware is "ready for vp8 acceleration" but someone's going to have to write that code and they're not doing it given android's atrocious track record with hardware acceleration I don't see it happening any time soon. and even if it does it will be for new phones only so in summary playing dumb flash video eats battery like nobody's business, playing dumb vp8 is even worse since at least adobe has tried to get parts of flash hardware accelerated

Don Lapre posted:Yes, streaming flash takes more battery power than playing local videos. But atleast its got the capability, You dont have to use it if you hate flash. i like how you say it "takes more" as if it's just a difference of like 10% when it's literally four times as much and also it's not just videos but every flash object that chews battery like that and pretty much every website in existence has flash ads, so it'll always be running unless you turn it off except when you specifically need it but hey, apart from that whole battery thing, the part where you need to reformat your videos for mobile flash, the part where tons of flash games just outright don't work, yeah, flash is awesome on android. it's so awesome that people recommend turning it off by default

yeah flash is all video. no one does navigation in flash, games, entire loving websites, nothing. it's just videos. speaking of entire loving websites done in flash, the xoom can't even view its own product page
