Has anyone played the Blitzkrieg mod? It does the usual thing of adding a ton of new stuff, but it also makes infantry a lot more vulnerable out in the open and makes infantry cost more to build/reinforce, meaning you have to be more careful with your squads. I've been loving around with it in skirmish, no opinion on whether it's balanced or not yet.

Well, the thing with a blob is that it can generally only be in one place at a time, otherwise it won't be as powerful. This especially goes for PG blobs due to group zeal. e: How effective is a quad 50 halftrack against a PG blob?

Man playing chokepoint maps sucks balls. I was playing PE vs two Americans with a German partner on that river map (not acheolus, the one with the sort of U-shaped thing) and both American players went armor (I went TD) and we just could not break through. Next time I do that map I'm picking airborne instead

Yeah I was pretty bad on this map. I didn't even think of trying to repair the bridge and going that way, and then I thought my teammate left The map started with high resources, so I farted out a few panzergren squads and immediately went for dual armored cars, then just started rolling hetzers and an IST as soon as I could. You can see what happened there next.

Yeah, this was like my second or third MP game ever, so I was scrambling a bit. I went with TD doctrine later on and spammed hetzers because I panicked, but I'm not sure whether anything else would really have been helpful. My later game with some other goons on the 4v4 was pretty awful though. I didn't get much of use done other than planting a vampire near an enemy fuel point and then managing to kill a 17 pounder with a Goliath (actually pulling that off was a pretty How badly does the vampire gently caress up enemy resources anyways? It's only 220 MP so it seems like it might be worth slapping one down if I have the spare manpower and just hiding it in a corner or something. -Troika- fucked around with this message at Jun 6, 2011 around 05:31 |

The armored car works fine against riflemen for me, as long as I just stay far enough away to avoid a sticky (which isn't hard)

How do you even micro a mortar halftrack? It's pretty much move it into range and then either let it shoot on it's own or pick out a specific area to barrage. Or fire an incendiary round at a garrisoned building/deployed AT gun.

The Brumbauer in Blitzkrieg is slightly ridiculous. It's of course effective against infantry and buildings, but apparently it hits hard enough to gently caress Shermans up real good too

Since this same gun can also load HE rounds it is likewise useful for supporting your early skirmishing. One thing to watch out for with PE: since their basic infantry squads/assault grenadiers/tankbusters all now start at 6 men, if you get the squad size upgrade their max size is seven, which means you can't fit them into some things anymore.
