that'd be la bravoura. the places you haven't been are marked on the world map.

i wish there was a list of monster class skills somewhere. like okay, extra grinding to get permanent skills is a perfectly fine concept, but doing all that grinding without knowing what the heck i'm even grinding for?

it is the same as far as the class tree goes. but for skills, almost everything has a different name and i've already found differences in the human class skills. for example, since hybrid skills were removed i've found a few that were integrated in the normal class skill list, and others i haven't been able to find at all yet.

thanks, that's helpful. a quick check between the google translated list and the old ps1 faq made it very clear that the skill lists for some of the monster classes are quite different.

You have to talk to the guy in the Monster Park to get them to appear. The guy you give enclosures to, not the tablet guy or Dogsbody. That's the point where you drop them off and the marks appear.

that's what i figured, yeah. the early empty monster park is just there so you can accumulate monsters until you reach the point where you would normally be able to access it.

i know lizardmen aren't available until very late in the game, but what was the other late game base class? i'm trying to figure out which of the 5 final monsters have roadblocks. peacock doesn't, as someone already mentioned.

I think both Rockbomb, Berserker and Goodybag all are fairly late. Berserker is in the 2nd to last colored fragement island, Jewelbag is on the last colored fragment island, Rockbomb is the 2nd grey fragment. I think a couple of them will be in world map treasure chests that you can get quite a bit earlier but I can't remember which specifically or where, though I'm pretty sure it's Rockbomb.

rockbomb and berserker are in lucky panel. so, that leaves jewelbag. aside from peacock, the other 4 have either lizardman or jewelbag, so i guess i'll grind up one person into a peacock and then not worry about the rest.

It might just be conjecture but have you tried actually finishing the dungeon? The final boss Kingfuschia is supposed to drop hearts more often, and I think clearing the dungeon repeatedly increases your chances too. Of course, I could be completely off base, but that's how it was for me and Drake Slimes.

You can get Rockbomb and Berserker easily from Lucky Panel, Goodybag I haven't found anywhere yet but I'll be doing more Lucky Panel now that I'm in the endgame so I'll let you guys know.

assuming this list of lucky panel prizes is correct, you can get gerion hearts in coastal and skip the lizard man phase. the jewel bags build into hell giant and dead noble, and the former is also a coastal lucky panel prize. they seem to be very rare, though.

so then, skipping the late access lizard man and jewel bag hearts, that means i need to figure out what gerion, hell giant and dead noble are called now and also if they are obtainable before those two basic classes.

of course, even if i get all those hearts i'll probably lose interest halfway through the grind.

I noticed after playing Lucky Panel for awhile that the shuffle and +1 chance cards almost never get shuffled into the top row, and that they seem to show up in the bottom two rows most often. I tried opening the bottom cards first, and if I reveal the shuffle, then I would reveal from the top for my remaining reveals. Because of this I got shuffled less often and stumbled into the +1 during the game more frequently, and this greatly increased my winrate. This was the one in Alltrades present, I'm not sure if they all work like that or if it was just my RNG seed but I definitely played long enough that there seems to be something to that.

i've seen that mentioned elsewhere as well, so it isn't just you. furthermore, when the shuffle isn't in the bottom row it seems to almost never show up in the outside edge. that's just anecdotal evidence, of course.

Death costs you nothing but money. I grind too much so I've got a good amount of money saved in the bank, plus a stack of prayer rings I won from the casino I can sell for cash any time. Laughing at death is an appropriate response in DQ. So far my only death was underestimating a tablet boss.

jawtoise hearts are quite common in alltrades present lucky panel

Another great thing about hearts dropping much more frequently in tablets is it gives you a great source of income. Slime hearts sell for only 200 g but when you're bringing back like 30 a trip it adds up fast.

Not that it's gonna change how I play cause job grinding is so addictive but how necessary/helpful is mastering as many jobs as possible for the postgame dungeon?

intermediate classes and up give bonus stats when you master them. otherwise, there is no point in having every character have every ability because passives don't transfer between classes and you can still only use one ability per turn.

midheal is nice to have on anyone but otherwise there isn't much point in grinding out all the basic jobs for every character. having all those extra abilities is pointless when there are better alternatives available. personally, i'd recommend spending most of your time in various intermediate classes unless you want to mess with monster classes for whatever reason.

the rarest item from alltrades present is the very useful drake slime heart, but you get a dungeon tablet for those at around the same time which is a much easier way to obtain them. but hey, functionally infinite money is nice enough even if going for a specific rare item is a waste of time.
