I'm on a Thunderbolt running BAMF 1.6 or so, and my issue is that a good 80% of the time when posting, if I try to click around within my text to, say to fix a word swype hosed up on, it will instead jump up about 5-7 lines. It's consistent and will do this for the rest of that post attempt, and I have to use the hold-zoom dealy to place my cursor. Right now as I write this it's okay, but the last 3 posts were having the issue. loving annoying. Love the app otherwise, it's the bee's knees. And yes I'm on the latest beta of swype.

If you swype from the swype key to the symbol key you open the edit layer and can just use the arrows in that to navigate the text.

Not sure yet how to fix it, I'm thinking just forcing to invalidate the view will work. For folks complaining about the browser preferences popping up when you click an SA app, I don't believe this is the apps fault. I notice the same behavior with Reddit links and Reddita and really its the OS that should be storing that preference. All the app does is announce that its capable of handling a forums.somethingawful.com address.

I don't think there's any way to have that android behavior work on everything, but we could make a preference within the app to unregister the intent filter.

So I woke up my CM7 Nook Color today for the first time in about a week and I think it updated a lot of apps shortly afterwards, I went to browse the forums and the Awful app is broken. It starts up fine and on one third of the screen a list of the forums loads up and the other side stays white and tells me to select a forum. It's very pretty but when I click a forum the app force closes. I cleared data, then uninstalled and reinstalled from the market. Same results.

I think it might be because there's at least three times you need to do the do this by default thing. Links to forums, links to threads, and to the forum index. I don't know, my Android knowledge is limited. The question is whether or not once Awful is the default for one of those categories if it means all URLs fitting in one of those categories go to Awful.

Yeah it will be based on a series of URL filters so eventually the message would stop, but there's several possible forums.somethingawful.com URLs that the app will want to handle. Each would have an independent prompt and preference.

It's happening to me with an incredible running 2.2 with the stock browser. Happens on every single link on the forums. Every thread, sub forum, all the links at the top, etc.brosmike posted:but we could make a preference within the app to unregister the intent filter. This would be awesome. Yeah I think that would be the best option right now until android gets there poo poo together. Chances are if your using the app your already technically inclined and can make the decision of "browser or app?" Yourself.

If that's the case set Browser to the default and check the remember default box and you'll get the behavior you want. The app will do its own thing when you use it.

For the hell of it I've implemented ACRA to report to BugSense to play around in a branch. I've never put anything on the Market before so I may or may not have assumed incorrectly that crash reports on stock Market applications are only readable to the developer who put the application there. Anyway, the ability for multiple and disparate developers like on this project to see crash reports is pretty attractive to me so I'm just throwing this idea and the implementation of such in a branch out there here and on github respectively. The stock Google Document spreadsheet used in acra was kinda meh for me in usability so I figured I'll try BugSense out. Sereri posted:Depends whether or not you have Honeycomb on your nook. If you don't then the answer is no. Apparently CM7 on the Nook color allows you to change the screen resolution, which would in-turn trick the app into thinking you're on a Honeycomb-supported tablet. I'm going to add an explicit API level check to that call to prevent this. Edit: That's weird, I swear somebody suggested at some point to use screen measurements to determine whether or not the app was running on a tablet as opposed to checking build versions, and I remember making the change. Anybody remember where/when this happened? Because in the latest master branch I have it checking the API level. Ferg fucked around with this message at Jul 28, 2011 around 13:48 |

Would there be a way to force images that are larger than the display area to thumbnail and expand in the middle of the screen when interacted with rather than requiring to scroll over to view the whole thing? I'm thinking something similar to a lightbox sort of view like you'd find on flickr. I guess you could do this for phones too but I'm mostly interested in it for tablets. And speaking of tablets, the bug with images not loading is kind of a pain - not the end of the world, but when you're on a short page with no way to scroll them off and on the screen and they won't load at all, it's a bother.
