I think they did a couple days after that dude fell.

Pretty sure that the next day, some dude was carted out of the Rangers' park after getting beaned by a Hamilton line drive foul ball. Dude just couldn't get a break with the whole inadvertent injuring fans problem.

I don't really have any alcohol or drug problems that I know of, but having luck like Hamilton did last year would certainly be enough to drive to to test it.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to get around the blackout restrictions of MLB.tv? I saw a few articles on it, but they are a few years old.

Meet me in the Hall of Fame

I think he is the third person to fall over a rail at the Ballpark in Arlington. The first one was when the park opened and some drunk lady fell over a railing in right field, maybe that same section. They raised the railings after that one. The second fall I remember was also a fireman, but he fell off the second deck, and landed on people.

Best way is to use an international proxy for some where not in North America. It's ridiculous easy. It works for everything in the regular season and post season. If I'm watching games that day I try to post a working proxy in the GDT.

Whats the quality like using an international proxy? Do you have to use the proxy the whole time? Thanks for the help btw.

The quality is exactly the same. You can turn the proxy off after the video starts but I leave mine on all the time with no problems.

So if I'm in the Cincinnati area and buy MLB.TV, will all Reds games be blacked out for me? I want to cancel my cable but still watch the Reds. Is this a stupid thing to do?

Yes they will be blacked out unless you use a proxy.

It'll be blacked out, yeah.

It's not stupid though since you can get around it with proxies; just be prepared to have certain times where it's a pain to find one that works.

Speaking of MLB.tv, someone needs to start the MLB.tv group subscription thread. 20 dollars for every game I'd ever want to watch is amazing.

The 2012 subscription isn't out yet so there's no point. The only pricing that we know for sure is that renewals are $99.99 and even that might change.

I don't think Roku boxes let you use a proxy by default so you would have to do some finagling with your home network to make it work.

Yea I proxy using my ps3 but to get it to work you have to have a router that is configured to connect to the proxy, it is a pain to setup if your not a network nerd.

I've been desperately looking for anything baseball at my local newsagency and because of this bought Baseball Digest today. This was a huge mistake. A magazine written by 80-year-olds talking about the importance of wins isn't exactly what I was looking for. I know print is dead but are there any good magazines about baseball?

And that reward set back Corey Patterson's plate discipline by ten years. The best part isn't even just the home run. It's the whole sequence.

The catcher immediately sets up high once the pitcher begins his delivery so it's more likely that he gave a location sign earlier and is trying to confuse the runner at second to prevent him from relaying a signal to the batter.

That sentence made me think of this.

NEED SQUAT FORM HELP

I've seen it mentioned in a few threads that x commentator is poo poo (most recently Tim McCarver in the N/V thread), so i was wondering how MLB commentating is organised. Is it all done by Fox personnel, or does each team have its own dedicated commentators? Are there any that are particularly worth watching or any that should be avoided if possible?

Each team does have their own local commentators, usually a tv team and a radio team. National broadcast games get separate broadcasters by network, that's where McCarver and Buck and company come in (they all suck). There are some solid teams put there, but most local crews are pretty much homers.

Also: Vin Sully with the Dodgers owns bones.

All 30 teams have their own TV, radio, and in most cases Spanish broadcasting crew. When they're on a national broadcast, the TV crew gets the day off and Fox/ESPN/TBS/whoever brings in their own television and broadcasting crew for the game. They universally suck. It is easier to make exceptions for ones that aren't bad than to point out the good ones.

Usually at least one of the TV or radio teams doesn't blow for each team. Sometimes they blow really hard though!

Does that extend to radio? For example, if a team plays a game thats on ESPN Radio (let's say a Sunday night game), would they have to use that broadcast for their radio feed?

The only radio blackouts happen in the World Series (though local markets can keep their feed) and internet radio feeds have to be blacked out during a game in favor of MLB's internet radio feeds.
