I'm so glad she's getting more exposure. I remember when I first heard her stuff in 2011, it was like doom folk or something. Her new album is straight up doom, imo. I commented on one of her instagram posts that she should collaborate with The Body. I think that could be intense. I also enjoyed her stuff she did with King Dude.

Thanks for this recommendation, most awe inspiring album I've heard this year, maybe longer. Seriously, everybody should give it a try.

Did Ozzy ever really sound great live? I'm too young to have seen Sabbath (or Ozzy's solo band) in their prime but I've talked to people who saw him in the mid-80s and the consensus seems to be he sucked then too.

I suppose back then it could have been the cocaine though and not so much the advanced age.

Yeah, nevermind. I have that Past Lives album too, which was recorded in the early 70s, and Ozzy sounds great on that.

I met a guy in a record store that had seen like every incarnation of Sabbath live, and he said Ozzy was pretty awful in the late 70s with Sabbath. He was good up until Technical Ecstasy.

I haven't actually gotten a chance to listen to the cd yet to be quite honest, as I don't have a disc drive or a car to play it in. I'll probably toss it on my roommate's stereo this weekend and give it a spin and let you know. It's got around 12 tracks so I'd imagine it'd probably 50 or more minutes long.

The name is unfortunate, and I wish they had changed it when they started moving in their current direction, because they're an excellent band, and much more than a stoner cliche.

They also got my band on a bunch of gigs back in the day, so I'm obliged to provide the cheap plug.

A lot of the newer stoner / doom bands seem to take generic or just plain stupid as gently caress names, it's somewhat of a trend or something.

Stoner Train
Stoner Kebab
Stoned Jesus
Black/Goat/Morbid/Smoke/Green/Retarded Wizard
Wizard's Beard
Wizard Wolf
Wizard Of Stone Mountain

not going to even start listing all the weed or bong related names...
