I remember when I first heard her stuff in 2011, it was like doom folk or something. Her new album is straight up doom, imo. I commented on one of her instagram posts that she should collaborate with The Body. I think that could be intense. I also enjoyed her stuff she did with King Dude.

Did Ozzy ever really sound great live? I'm too young to have seen Sabbath (or Ozzy's solo band) in their prime but I've talked to people who saw him in the mid-80s and the consensus seems to be he sucked then too. I suppose back then it could have been the cocaine though and not so much the advanced age.

Yeah, nevermind. I have that Past Lives album too, which was recorded in the early 70s, and Ozzy sounds great on that. Hulk Krogan fucked around with this message at 22:47 on Sep 3, 2015 |

I went to the 13 tour last year, I was disgruntled about Geezer but I think the reality is that he couldn't really physically fill the position. Didn't have high expectations, figured I should still see them but holy gently caress they were awesome and I had the best time. an elderly lady took a hit off my blunt too which ruled

The arena venue was poo poo though, and it was bizarre to see Uncle Acid play a stadium.

I had the chance to see Sabbath in Tampa last year. I'm glad I skipped out to be honest. It would be like going to see Motorhead now. I'd rather have an image in my head not be tainted. I wish I was around to have seen them in 1970.

I haven't actually gotten a chance to listen to the cd yet to be quite honest, as I don't have a disc drive or a car to play it in. I'll probably toss it on my roommate's stereo this weekend and give it a spin and let you know. It's got around 12 tracks so I'd imagine it'd probably 50 or more minutes long.

I finally got round to clicking on that Chelsea Wolfe link and man I feel like a real jackass. I wrote her off based on one track I listened to on soundcloud and that Russian Circles track she did guest vocals on. That album is really great though, off to give her other stuff an honest listen.

The name is unfortunate, and I wish they had changed it when they started moving in their current direction, because they're an excellent band, and much more than a stoner cliche. They also got my band on a bunch of gigs back in the day, so I'm obliged to provide the cheap plug.
