Still mad I missed Kyuss Lives!(tm) but at least I'll see the Josh side of things with them playing the whole s/t album. Saw Quest for Fire, Naam and the Atomic Bitchwax yesterday. QFF were good, but only played 4 songs and called it a day which was hugely disappointing to me. At least until Naam came on stage who proceeded to completely blow me away, they're incredible live. TAB were great, they played the whole Side A of their upcoming 52 minute riffs-only album the Local Fuzz which was a whole lot of fun to watch. I know I'm probably late to the party, but I just listened to Boris New Album for the first time and I can't shake the feeling that I'm getting trolled. It's probably even a solid record if you're into that sort of thing (that thing being J-Pop/Rock)but drat. Anyways, got high hopes for Heavy Rocks '11. Going to see them in July, here's hoping for an all New Album Set ![]() Also, Red Fang are indeed great, definitely give them a chance: Prehistoric Dog (plus hilarious video):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Vcoq-QRo4 Psychedelius fucked around with this message at Apr 12, 2011 around 16:54 |

I love how it's completely obvious that Josh Homme is just bullshitting. Also, "I know that that band definitely influenced Kyuss..." ![]() Great band though, might watch the "fuzzomentary" if I get the chance.

For me, all of the Truckfighters' material is almost equal quality wise, with their half of Fuzzsplit of the Century coming in on top. Mania is great and while it's not got as many heavy hitters as Gravity X (or Phi), I'd definitely be interested in some more mellow-y stuff like Monster. Also, Con of Man is one of my absolute favorites.

Rion.exe posted:check out Witch Mountain Witch Mountain are definitely worth checking out. Their new album is available on their bandcamp for the ol' name-your-price dealio (meaning free for the avaraciously inclined). Strong female vocals are an absolute rarity in these beard-centric genres and they are truly exceptional on this album. Psychedelius fucked around with this message at May 15, 2011 around 14:48 |

Something that might be of interest: Stream Heavy Rocks (2011) in its entirety Stream Attention Please in its entirety e: Halfway through Heavy Rocks and I'm loving it. Although it's not quite as heavy as I was expecting. Psychedelius fucked around with this message at May 16, 2011 around 17:24 |

Is it wrong that I'm going to see EYEHATEGOD simply for the fact that Church of Misery are opening?

Oh I wish I was there. It's Vienna for me so it's Eyehategod, Chāchi obu Mizarī and Torn From Earth from Budapest. Should be great, especially because I'll see Boris and Russian Circles just a few days later. Can't wait for the drummer to get his "WWOOOOOOOO" on.

The new Sungrazer LP Mirador is out and it's pretty good. The whole album can be streamed here. They've got a really nice warm psychedelic sound, comparable to Colour Haze but a tad rockier with some spacey delay jams thrown in.

HMorg posted:Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats? Great stuff, reminds me strongly of sound of Witch's first album that somehow went missing on the second album. I recently came across True Widow. They ride the line between shoegaze and stoner/doom goodness (they classify themselves as stonergaze ), think newer Earth with spacy vocals. They released their second album back in May, beautifully titled "As High As The Highest Heavens And From The Center To The Circumference Of The Earth", give them a try! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf3TMuAQIdU
