I'm with Backyard with single emote replies. But 9/10 times they do nothing but derail/throw off the topic.

Also, where is from?

Yeah, you may not want to see the leper's colony in a few hours then. My vagina centipedes were acting up, so I gave a bunch of people pretty stout probations.

All joking aside, I do look through the thread for context, re-read the OP, and look at the offending poster's rap sheet and post history if it's difficult to make a decision on punishment. Best punishment scenario (for you guys), is not having a rap sheet, generally being a good poster, and not loving up in any of the lite-porn threads. If someone is like this and they get reported, they will usually get a 6hr-1 day probation. If someone has 6 bans, 17 probations, and four title changes and posts a one word reply opposing someone's well thought out and voiced point, they will get a week. A month if I have to go to the lite-porn threads to probate them (a LOT of this happened a few minutes ago, so I had to give out a bunch of probations).

Only like a quarter of the posts reported to me get punished.

Do you have the authority to request bans, or is that only an admin thing?

Think before you make a thread. Does is belong in PYF? Read the rules at least twice, maybe lurk for a bit, and if you're not an rear end in a top hat, you'll fit in! We're all very laid back, but we still have standards.

Can we make a rule about abusing the spoiler tag? For example, http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...0&userid=172769 It's annoying when the person isn't spoiling anything and you have to mouse over it to read stupid remarks.

It's fine in my book if there is a real spoiler to a movie, video game, whatever.

Not always, because it isn't just "STOP POSTING X" it's also done a thousand different ways. "Could we please stop talking about X", "Shut up about X already", or other variations basically saying the same thing without making an attempt at Posting Their Favorite. It isn't just backseat moderating because it's someone speaking their mind about the thread, but it's still just as annoying to see 3 pages of a tangent getting shat upon by somebody because the thread suddenly doesn't meet their interest, but they do nothing about it besides complain.

Someone saying "Could we please stop talking about X" has WORKED on getting threads back on track.

Reasons I think the Funny Picture Thread isn't getting more posts: People are running out of funny pictures without repeating pictures, the rule on posting an image in every post. I don't see the problem with getting rid of the "pic in every post" as long as it's moderated heavily.

I still think keeping it extremely moderated, probating users who start derais, we can get rid of the picture in every post rule.

Although then the mods will have to dedicate more time on it, ending derails, etc.

Yeah, that's fine. I mean, you already said no to the derail thread. It was just an idea that I thought would make it easier for you guys as mods since you have complained several times that PYF generates the most reports for derails. Also, because people are getting a bit miffed at how we finally got rid of the iron-fisted rule of Childlike Empress, but more and more rules are creeping up and they all have to do with derails.

You said no, that's it.

I disagree, the rules have not been creeping up on us. Do we have some new ones? Yes. But they aren't anything oppressive (unless you're stupid and never read the rules thread). They are simple, easy to follow rules, and they work here.
