I'd prefer it if there was a Meme Ghetto thread and meme bullshit was strongly frowned upon outside that thread because seriously there is a thin line between good PYF that's fun to read and 4Chan, and I know none of us want to wind up on the far side of that line.

People have been using the timg tag to post retardedly big images in the various image threads. Can we start discouraging this? When it's several thousand by several thousand pixels it's annoying to have to scroll over to view the image when they could just resize it in a couple of seconds and not have to use timg tags at all.

This is the funniest page in the forums right now. Trying to make a meme-based thread good is like trying to design an awesome case of terminal cancer. Meme poo poo is probatable/bannable in the forums at large because of the tendency of memes to make threads lovely and bad. A meme thread is going to be lovely and bad. It may also be sometimes funny if you're the kind of person that thinks memes are funny (?), but if you start with the thought "Let's make the meme thread better" and start designing rules and follow it all to its logical conclusion you close the meme thread. Because it can never be a good thread. It will always just be a meme thread.

I have consistently argued that moderating the meme thread is a lost cause. I'd prefer it didn't exist, but since it seems like it will there really shouldn't be any energy wasted moderating it beyond the forums-wide rules against stuff like NWS, creepy pedo bullshit, etc. Every post in the meme thread is lovely by virtue of its being in the meme thread. No sense building some system of turd classification, where some are lovely enough to be unacceptable. It's all poop.
