Wafflecop posted:

Yes it is.

Just wanted to say thanks for the three 6 reccs, what 2/3 weeks ago now, picked up Mystic Stylez, When the Smoke Clears and Mista Don't Play and I've been enjoying them each thoroughly. Mystic Stylez is my favourite, with Back Against Da Wall and Break Da Law 95 for highlights although the whole thing is pretty fantastic.

I've been on a bit of a South kick for the last two months and I'm on a bit of Gucci Mane atm. People give him a lot of poo poo for his lyrics and extracurricular activities (mental hospital visits and face tattoos) but I really like his flow. Got both the Writings on the Wall tapes and Ferrari Music. WotW1&2 are both full of bangers and FM's got a few.

I'm getting excited for Ferrari Boyz, beeen listening to this a bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SMhxOgf7ys

I'm not really into Waka but he's inoffensive on that one and so I hope for the album. Before I was into Gucci I felt the same about him that I still do about Lil B, namely that I was thinking "How the gently caress can anyone enjoy this poo poo? The beats are mindnumbing and the dude sounds retarded". I still don't like Lil B but I think the difference between him and Gucci is that people think Gucci is a fool but he's actually an artist whereas some think Lil B is an artist but he's just a fool.

I realise that I came down on Lil B and I'm not trying to poo poo on his fans, but I just can't see the point, even on the songs he says he's actually trying on.

Edit: Just thought of a terrible analogy - Gucci is Van Gogh, Lil B is Tracey Emin. In terms of mental balance and artistic ability both.

You just haven't found the right Lil' B song. "Look like Jesus" made me a believer, no pun intended.

IN REGARDS TO GUCCI MANE

Oh man. Gucci's great. I haven't scratched the surface on his mixtape legacy but cop the Cold War series, specifically Great Brrrrtain and Guccimerica. Tha Burrrprint 1 & 2 are great, I love the Movie Pt 2. His album "Hard to Kill" is pretty good but most importantly it has "Street Niggas" which is just one of my favorite tracks in the last couple of years.

Gucci and Jeezy are two of my favorite rappers. Great beats and flow.

Although, I haven't loved a ton of his output in the last year although on a lot of levels I think Mr. Zone 6 > Trap or Die II

Obviously everyone has their own taste but I find it funny that Game hates on Lil' B as being untalented or ineffective or whatever, but two artists that he respects or wants to work with like Lil' B.

Wayne thought he was good enough to the be the only non-YMCMB member on Sorry 4 The Wait and while it wasn't a strong verse for the world, I always interpret as pay off for how much work he's put in... and it's still fun.

Tyler likes Lil' B and it seemed like Game was trying hard as gently caress to work with Tyler.

Again, Game doesn't have to like Based God because those guys do. Just saying it's silly that he considers him to be seriously weak when two of the more prominent artists in the rap game (this year) have hosed with him.

After listening to all the tracks at least 5 to 9 times, I can say that LiveLoveA$AP is a dope rear end tape. I've been really excited for it since Deep Purple came out so I could be biased.

All the same, I love it. The lyrics are relatable but can bring a ton of bravado. The production is original and catchy and it's loving mastered well, THANK GOD.

I know they treated it more like an album than a mixtape, but it's safe to say that I'm excited for Rocky's first album. I also can't wait for more Spaceghostpurrp and A$AP Nast. I liked a lot of Nast's verses, he's definitely up next

Nothing will beat "Pussy Between Yo Legs" though.

He released two or three tracks that are supposed to be from God of Black via YouTube and whatnot.

His "official" discography can be located here: http://atrilli.net/2011/11/spaceghostpurrp-official-discography/

I love SGP but I will say, he can be inconsistent in terms of releasing poo poo. His Trilluminati tape never happened but we got The Truth from it which is loving great and IDK if there's an official release of the Purpped & Chopped tape that was previously mentioned with the Earl Sweatshirt track.
